šŸ’¬ I want! ~ Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro

PSA: Alabama has passed a long over due constitutional carry law. Gov MeeMaw signed it yesterday and it goes into effect 01/01/2023.
Been following that on a hunting forum I frequent.

I will still buy permit for reciprocity sake. I have travel out of state hunting quite a bit and want something for all the other states I'm in.

I was entertained by the arguments of the LEOs. Boiled down to more guns in criminals hands. Majority of guns in murder are stolen. Those permits are slush funds used at the sheriffs discretion most of the time.

I have the XP Mod 2, it's compact, the doublestack was only 0.1 inch fatter than the original XD single stack, 13/1 with the flush mount and 15 or 17 with the extension. I prefer the backstrap grip safety of the Mod 2 over the trigger safety alone.

I really want an Alabama-made Kimber 1911, and I missed the boat on the Alabama bicentennial model. That and a Banshee are on my short list.

Perhaps we need a general gun thread.

Here's an odd one that was my Dad's, I still have it. I can remember first from when I was a kid, maybe 8-10 years old. Winchester Thumb Trigger Model, later known as the Model 99 after 1920. Ours has "Thumb Trigger Model" on it, making it a 1920 or earlier model. It may be simplest gun I've seen, certainly the simplest I've ever owned, and it's very accurate. Bolt action, you pull it back and it catches on a spring lever, press the lever (the thumb trigger) down and it fires.
