When you play Alabama, there's a good chance you're going to get beat. That's just life
Haha

And I want him when/if Mama calls. Just his persepctive is awesome. I love Saban, but if Saban is Yin, Dabo is Yang.

Am I the only one on here who actually listens to Dabo's pressers??

My guess is you are. But as far as substance is concerned, that was the strangest presser I ever did hear. What you call perspective sounds more like a capitulation speech after the fact. You know, his team hears all that stuff and not really the emotional vibe you would want going into the biggest game of the year.

Well I think I know what you're saying. We're used to Saban trying to project an image via the media. Dabo just wears his feelings on his sleeve. The part I forwarded to was in the middle of his response to a question about how essential another win over Bama is for his program. I liked his whole answer which you'd have to back up to hear. I also liked the respect for his alma mater he still has and doesn't mind showing leading into a huge game.

Just a different style. Saban does something similar when he talk about his opponent. AKA..."Great deal of respect".......I'm sure behind closed doors Dabo is saying 'lets get ready to beat the crap outta these guys!'exc..... Keep in mind i think Dabo whats the Bama job bad....so he is sucking up a little just in case in the future he doesn't want to burn any bridges.

You made me listen to him, thanks. He's a maturing rah-rah guy, and he may just be the perfect beer chaser to the hard liquor of Saban. We could do a heck of a lot worse than a coach with at least one NC under his belt.

RTR,

I have somewhat liked Clemson since back in the Coach Ford days. I really like Dabo as a person and coach, however, I do not think he will "come home" when "mama calls." Yes, he is Bama born and breed but he has established something at Clemson that IMO, I do not think he will leave. Just my opinion.

I think when CNS does head to lake Dabo is only candidate and after what I think will be a anguished decision he stays at Clemson. Sideways or down is the only direction the next coach can go after what CNS has built.

It's already considered the greatest dynasty in modern college football history. And it's not over. Sideways would be just fine, don't you think?

I'd kill for sideways but do you want to coach where success would be attributed to previous legend and 2 loses would have fan base calling for your head?
I know I'm in the minority but something about Dabo annoys the shit out of me.

Totally get it and thought he was too goofy for my taste. IMO, he has mellowed with age and his success is impossible to ignore + Bama boy.

Plus, nobody hated Saban more than me when he was in Baton Rouge.

I'm in the minority with you. *IF* he will succeed Saban - and by that I mean he'll succeed Saban's successor - I hope he'll let his team's work do the talking instead of his loud mouth. And hopefully, he can do more than the negative recruiting he's doing, like how he took the OL from OSU. I like that the kid flipped and left Meyer in a lurch, but not the way Dabo did it...Telling a kid Meyer doesn't have much left in the tank. They're just five years apart in age.

I 100% believe he will replace Saban unfortunately unless Saban has one picked out himself (didnt work with the Bear though so that I may not be much better). I just find him super annoying and overrated as hell. I dont think he's bad or even mediocre, I think hes a solid coach and a great recruiter. Just dont think hes nearly as good as he's been made out to be the last 3 years. Then again he's been in the playoffs 3 straight seasons, so WTF do I know?

Reason it didn't work as well for The Bear is because Gene Stallings was his first choice. Bebe's wanted the job, however the Cowboys were in the middle of the play-offs and he wanted to stay until after the play-offs. This was during the height of recruiting building up to signing day. Coach Bryant went a different direction.

Just think of how Bama would be today? If Stallings had been hired,
