🏈 I am following the Hog message board logic...

No doubt we have our share of delusional fans. I was merely expressing being happy those delusional fans "stayed home" and didn't come over here flaming the board as the poster predicted.

No offense intended txhawg. We really appreciate knowledgeable rival fans here. And you're right, we do have our fair share of delusional fans. Fortunately, they tend to not stay around here too long.

Here's to a good game!

Actually if you consider the entertainment value of those delusional fans as I do, you might want one or two around for the laughs. It amazes me how some of these guys come up with this "logic" about how incredible our team is and why the opponent shouldn't even show up for the game. I love reading the Arkansas boards on gameday morning...makes me wish I had what they had for breakfast. :hyper:

I got this in an email this morning. It was pulled from Hogville.

To say the least, this guys theory falls apart if he had bothered—if only for a second—to do just a little research.

Could Alabama but overrated?

Just hear me out, they have played one decent team this year in Virginia Tech and allowed 24 points in that game. VTech typically has a good D, not much O yet they scored 24 on Bama. Bama then allowed a horrible Florida International team to score 14 points on them and Bama won 40-14. Their "best" player on offense is Julio Jones, yet he only has 5 catches in 3 games. Ingram is a good running back but is averaging less than 100 yards per game and he is also their leading receiver at 10 catches. Their D is what makes this team great on paper, allowing only 185 yards per game but again, against who? Virginia Tech, a team known for their defense and not their offense. Florida International, who at 0-2 is looking to have another bleak season coming off just 4 wins last year and North Texas, who are 1-2 and went 1-11 last year.

Listen, I know that Bama is Bama and they are a good football team but this is the same team that got schooled by Utah to end the season last year, and that was with a veteran quarterback behind the wheel in John Parker Wilson. Everyone in the media and many on this board want to chalk this one up as a learning experience for the Hogs but a loss, I beg to differ. We by far are going to be the best offense they have faced this season and maybe the best they will see all year. If VTech can put 24 points on the board on them in Atlanta, in what was basically a home game for Bama, why can't we score in the 30's or beyond? If our defense can rise above last weeks performance and make some plays, maybe cause a turnover or two and Mallett and company can put some points on the board early...........WE CAN WIN THIS FOOTBALL GAME!!!

There are SO many holes in his first paragraph it's...well, not even funny.

Just as one example. Yes, Ingram is averaging less than 100 yards per game...out of the 260 plus the team is averaging as a whole.

Alabama is vastly overrated; they have serious issues in their secondary, that if you can protect, can be exposed. The left side of their offensive line is average right now, and there are real questions about who makes the plays on the edge, if you limit Julio Jones.

The real problem for teams that want to beat Alabama is the question of protection and penetration at the LOS; their front 7 (and even the rotation 12-14 in the front 7) is the best in the country.

They're a very legitimate Top 15 team, with reasonable aspirations to a Top 10 status. They aren't #3 in CFB, though.

Theres someone who just watched the first quarter of the Virginia Tech game and hasnt seen much besides that.

I will admit to my shock and surprise that they didn't show up. My guess is that the beatdown from last season served as incentive to stay away. The hog boards did morph from "woe is me" to "Alabama is overrrated, we will win this one!"

I am honestly surprised...This is the first time since I started on internet foums in the mid to late 1990's that Arkansas fans didn't flood our boards with smack.

My gosh imalive1459 where did you go to read that stuff? Never mind, do not answer that because I think I know.
I'm not going to be the Arkansas apologist for ever fan this week, but people like this need to watch more football and shut their damn mouth.

Hi, TID, remember me? Good luck to Arkansas fans on staying safe in the rain and on the roads.
