We were a young team this year, a rebuilding year. Georgia was an experienced team with a majority of their players being multi-year players who will not be back. I am not sure they will be in the playoffs next year, although they are recruiting top talent. But like us this year, that talent needs some experience.

Spot on. Team maturity was a huge factor for uGaly this year, like "auburn with a lake" in 2018 and UA last year. It will work itself out and, in the end, we'll see whose a$$ is blackest.

As bad as it sucked losing last night, at least the playoffs and title game got played. I'd have hated for either side to have won by default due to Covid, as per the policy that was laid out a few weeks ago. I do NOT want us to ever win a national title by default. I'll take a straight up on the field loss over that bullshit any day.

The dynasty is over???? We will be better next year. It is unlikely we will have the injuries that we had this year. And the inconsistent play from younger players will be very likely be resolved. RTR

Not sure about that. I think they are going to see a lot leaving for the draft and some portal losses after this.

I would say they've been a problem since he's been there, but things don't necessarily get easier after you win a title (other than in recruiting). But yeah, they are also going to lose a chunk of guys (heard this morning that Cine is going pro for example), plus all the guys that returned last year are gone. Kirby is going to have to adapt and adjust, and that can get muddy (see most everyone lately other than Saban who has hoisted the hardware).

He is also having to replace coaches (along with Dabo) let’s see how both deal with what Nick Saban has dealt with for several years now.

That will be the test. Can he do what Saban has done and evolve and roll with the punches, that includes coaching turnover, player attrition, game style changes, etc. He's already shown that he's a bit hard headed in terms of changing his style of play but it hasn't quite back fired yet. I think Dabo would be the best comparison, he got to the top and hasn't seemed to weather the storm that followed it real well (though that could always change). I just think Kirby is the one we will probably see do it well.
