Saban insinuated that Barnett isn't totally out of it in his post game interview. He played well later on, but we had the big lead then, which means he was under far less pressure.

Hurts played well and was calm/poised even when things weren't great and we didn't have a big lead.

I hope we settle it before Ole Miss.

Saban said the same thing after Blake pretty much won the job in '14 and even AJ in '11. He laid out for you, if you listened after that, what is he doing. "You guys talk about so much wanting to know who the QB is, but none of you wrote about the USC players saying publicly "we wish we knew who the QB was going to be", isnt that the point? To make it hard for them?"

He trolled all of us with the whole "It's going to be Cooper and Barnett" shit last week. Glad that Hurts seemed to live up to the hype, he really seems like the real deal, he had some timing issues that more reps is going to fix and that offensive line has a lot of things to sure up as well.

Regarding the "Indecision at QB" in the earlier thread i created, it's STILL an issue.
We will not be able to have an identity on offense, or as a team until the QB position is settled.
Saban wanted Barnett. Kiffin wanted Hurts. But it's always telling that when the game was looking shaky, they went straight to Hurts. Exactly what they did with Coker in the Ole Miss game. That tells you they know deep down that Hurts is the best they've got.

Barnett looked good, actually, but not when there was pressure in the game.
What pisses me off at this point is that Hurts still isn't officially the guy, he's still not going to get all of the reps.
He's a true fucking freshman. He needs every rep he can possibly get. He needs Lane Kiffin by his side at all times helping him with the offense, and tailoring it to fit his skillset. We need to decide that Hurts is the guy. Until then we're wasting reps, and not allowing the offense to gel
