🏈 How will you be spending Saturday?

I'll be driving from Birmingham back to my hometown in Muscle Shoals. Gonna watch the game and enjoy some time with family and friends! I'll probably pick up a cigar on the way.

Have to make an afternoon wedding for our best friends daughter. (Why anyone would get married during football season amazes me) 3:30 wedding, make a very brief appearance at the reception and then come home to watch the game. Mrs. Bama is playing for the wedding and also doing the cake so she will have to stay at the reception. At halftime, I will call my dad in Alabam and we will discuss the first half just like we always do.

Probably a Big Ten fan...understandable :)

Me, Sweetater, Squanto, and Geronimo will be here at the Cracker Palace bringing the house down and annoying our Big 10 neighbors, as we always do on football season Saturdays!

Before the game, I'll roast a chicken, make a pan sauce, bake some frog bread, saute some green beans and peppers, and russel up a mess of garlic spaghetti. We'll wash it down with a couple of gallons of Alabama Sweet Tea. I can't wait. And I can't wait to hang with y'all during the game. I tell you, y'all kept me from climbing a tower with a scoped rifle during after the Arkansas game!

(Note to government snoopers: the last sentence is in no way to be taken seriously :p.)

Quick trip to the lake and parents and then back in time to sit by myself, in my own house, and watch my own TV. Arkansas game coincided with a neighborhood party and I had to share the TV, and the air in the room, with others.

I want to be around 101,820 others when I watch a game, or by myself.

RTR,

Tim
I hear you, brother. I watch Alabama games at Bryant Denny or with immediate family members ONLY.

I was at my brother-in-law's for Thanksgiving when Alabama blow that lead to Scam and company. The in-law kept changing the channel back forth between the game and Drag Racing. DRAG RACING! How do you handle that? I was at his house and it was his TV, but I was close to blowing an artery. My wife kept squeezing my arm when he changed the channel because she knows when I'm about go into volcano mode. And when that happens, it ain't pretty. I make a fool out of myself and a lot of other people.

Finally, I said, "Dude, you're killing me. Can you please put the remote down?"

He was like, "Oh, I'm sorry. I just wanted to see a few races."

Me, "It's your TV, so if you want to watch racing just let me know and I'll go to a hotel. Either way I'm going to watch the rest of this game in peace."

To this day he doesn't know how close he came to joining the ranks of the departed.

Sweetater was all proud of me and thanked me profusely for not stomping the guts out of her brother in his own house. I didn't have the heart to tell her I was beyond gut-stomping and was nearing the soul dividing stage.

@bcracker it's our best friends daughter getting married. The brides mother is the OSU fan but the bride and her dad, who is performing the ceremony are not sports fans. My wife pulls for Bama, I trained her right. Make sense now?

Oh. Sorry bout that, mike. I didn't mean to falsely accuse your wife. Tell her I repent in sackcloth and ashes for mistakenly taking her for something as horrible as a OSU fan. Next time, hopefully, I'll read the posts a little more carefully. Roll Tide, brother!

How about a recipe for the frog bread.

@RollTide It's kind of involved. To get the right crust, you have to put a 1/2 sheet hotel pan full of rocks in the bottom of your oven. Then you preheat the rocks for about an hour and just after you place the dough on a preheated pizza stone you squirt the rocks with a Super Soaker to produce steam. I'll be glad to post the recipe if you want to do all the work.

From start to finish the process takes about two days, give or take a few hours. You have to make a polish, then the dough, then knead, then proof, etc. The results are well worth the effort. Just let me know. It will be a large file. We may have to do email.

@BamaJay73 It's a rustic, crusty, baguette type of bread. It's smack-your-mama good.
