📽 /🎵 How many of you guys have a Chromecast?

Yeah, I've had several of them. What's up? Do you have one or thinking about getting one?
Take a site you find on the Internet that is a landing spot for pirated TV shows and movies. Myflixerz is an example.

One of the biggest reasons people avoid sites like that is the fear of downloading a virus or something like that. What I've discovered is basically a firewall: Chromecast. While their downloadable browsers aren't as easy to use as the one you use it offers a way to use these sites without the risk of the full screen pop-ups and other things that make you pause before play.

In the same vein, I have a friend how doesn't have an antenna for OTA ball games. He uses the same process for puffertv and pulls in the major network broadcasts.

I know you are not surprised but I have no idea what you are talking about.
Wow. I mean. Wow.

It's a device that Google puts out you plug into your TV's HDMI port. In elementary terms it turns any TV into a smart TV. I use one of mine to stream games, like today's, when I'm outside of the house. I have another I use to mirror windows from my laptop. I have a monitor daisy chained to my laptop and can cast to another as well. Or, just flip that second screen to a TV show. Your browser has the option to "cast," hence Chromecast. They have over 2000 apps available now.

When I first got mine I counted over 700 channels after downloading a few free TV apps.

In this thread I'm talking about the ability to download a browser and pull up different sites off the Internet. Here, pirated movies and TV shows you normally would have to dodge ads with.

In a sense I guess it's in the same family as a Fire stick? I've never had one so I can't answer that. I don't subscribe to sites like HBO Max, Apple, or MGM+ but I watch their shows.

My son has something similar but he does not call it Chromecast. He can get every local network in the U.S. (I sometimes watch the local news out of Huntsville to keep up with what’s going on at home when I am at his house) He also get hundreds of movie channels, sports channels and the like.

Find out. The guy that lives behind a me has something like that but I can't get him to answer his phone. If it wasn't raining I'd ask...he's on his patio watching UTSA for god's sake.

I have a laptop I call my bar laptop. If I'm out it's the one I take around. Cheaper model, ya know? I used to carry it to the shed when I was working on something so I could watch a show/movie, whatever, in the background. That's the reason I got my first one. I like watching ball games, at night, outside. I get a decent picture on my deck after 12PM on sunny days. Seriously, does a gallon of milk weigh more than a TV?

The rest of it is just the cherry.

I will get with him and see what I can find out.
