🧑‍🍳 Burrito's: I've been meaning to ask this. It's come up 2X this past week. How many of you guys know how to roll one?

Or should I have started with "do you buy tortillas?"

I made several the other night and two of those there have called asking, "why did it fall out the other end?" Like some other things, it's all in how you roll.

It dawned on me...no one really "teaches" that in a kitchen. There is a method.

I buy tortillas and don't buy corn, never liked masa. Yes I can roll one. Kinda like a joint, you just have to get the technique.

Do you know how to wrap a yoga mat as a gift? Same concept.
Hard no. Everything falls out the sides.

Here's how it was explained to me.

Dump ingredients in the middle.
Grab 3 and 9 o'clock, pull together and them mash out but leave a bit of a edge...like a pie crust fold over.
Grab 7 and 5 and make your first fold taking one half up to the top...almost.
Then grab 10 and 2, making another crease, and roll...

Four creases, ends don't squirt and neither will the burrito.

Let me see if I can find a video...

I roll flour tortillas that way. Usually put too much filling, looks more like a whale.
Get a bigger tortilla.

It really makes a difference.

A little butter, then toasted, will hold 'em together...and if they are rolled that way you can make them into slices. Ya can't on one rolled like a joint: IYKYK. Or a yoga mat. IYDKYDK.

I've got two ideas on this...one involves cutting pizza flavored tortillas on their side and topped with cheese...it's a pizza bite. I got a take off on a hot pocket I'm going to share.

@rick4bama and others...

I'm convinced you can take tortilla's, roll them out this way, slice them about you would, say, sushi...and make pizza rolls topped with mozz.

Getting them out of the baking dish...haven't figured that one out yet.

I haven't made it that far yet...just a idle thought. I'm going to do my pizza pocket idea first. And yes, someone probably thought of it before I did...
Did you ever try it with the wonton wrappers? I'd think that would be easier to get to stay together. Maybe a layered single serve pizza size with the tortillas? Not sure how well they will stay together as a pocket.

No. Because I forgot to get them. It's on the list. I replenished everything down to orange sauce for chow mein ... and forgot.

I love making my own egg and spring rolls. Easy, with a little practice.

On another note...if you cook a white rice, then 'fridge it for 24...throw it in the air fryer with frozen veggies...a quick fried rice that comes out pretty nicely. Ham...easy enough to add. Haven't: had to figure the first out. Pork, gotta think about that one but not as much as making shrimp fried rice...that's a timing thing.
