🏈 How does Blake Sims compare to other QB's on 3rd down conversion passing plays?

Have to correct you @TheChief, the pass in the FAU game wasn't a screen, it was a crossing route. Splitting hairs, I know but only one screen called in those 10 plays.

@uagrad93 can you remember other plays that stand out as better than those? I do think of that screen to Yeldon against LSU when I think of passing plays by AJ. Yet, I think of touch that he had on longer passes but none of them stand out in particular. I guess that Yeldon play was so meaningful.

Maybe we'll think back to Sims and his drive against LSU turning the season to a really special one.

I think to the flea flicker at the Barn or the bomb in Arlington as some of his better deep balls @TheChief. His best deep ball at home was probably to Bell against State or Cooper against A&M in 2012. One that should have made the list was the bomb to White at A&M.

Every QB has a pro & con but there are only two stats that ultimately matter at winning, to me anyway:

-3rd down conversions
-Turnovers

Handle both of those well & it usually results to winning. Our last 3 starting QB's have done a relatively good job over the years. I don't give a flying flick how they do it either.

I find it funny that no matter how many deep passes Blake hits on Chief still harps on that as somehow his gripe with Blake. First it was "Alabama cant win with Sims at QB" then it was "Alabama will lose 3 games with Sims" and no its "he just cant hit the long ball" no matter how many times he hits a deep pass and "AJs deep pass was better". I havent seen one single person make the claim that Sims had a better deep ball than AJ, no one so what is your point? AJ couldnt escape pressure or scramble the way Sims does, which has saved drives how many times? If AJ had Sims mobility maybe he could have avoided some of those pressures against OU... but no lets keep harping on whether Sims or AJ throws the better 60 yard bomb. Because everyone knows that an 80 yard TD that travels 50 yards in the air counts as more points than an 80 yard TD that travels 15 yards in the air right? Right?

You have? Thats news to me cause all I see is you disappear for two weeks when Sims has a great game and then when he has a bad game pop back up and say "told ya so!"
