🏈 Hot Seats and Coaching Changes - EX UA coach, Billy Napier to ULL

COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin will be fired following the Aggies' regular-season finale at LSU on Saturday night, multiple people with knowledge of the situation said.

Trustee's running their mouth again?

A&M fans have been enthralled with the offense Sumlin fields (when it works.) I can't see Jimbo as a good fit there. Much like Florida with Mac, I can see them getting upset with the conservative approach Jimbo takes with game plans.

Kevin made millions off Johnny F Football...........millions

It is hard to believe that TCU is the best football program going in the state of Texas. Do they not teach high school players how to play defense in Texas. All that spread shet has taken the quality of college ball in that state backward.

Saturday night is a must win game and then what does the AD have to complain about? He said CKS had to improve over the past few years records. He has done that this year. The thing that has him over a barrel are threeIMO: 1. He did not get th states top talent when UT was struggling. 2. The constant turnover at QB. 3. A defense for the most part that could not stop anyone on a consistent basis.

Does Mike Leach return to coach?

It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if he did. Saban's defenses will eat his schemes for lunch; furthermore, Leach is quite the entertainer. We haven't had one in the SEC since Lester got booted.

Does Jimbo really want a change in his life? FSU is a good deal and A&M would be a great gig as well. The unknown is what's Jimbo thinking about his personal life. He is making more money than a crooked Judge as of today so that can't be the deal.

Regardless...Jimmy Sexton is going to get himself a new Range Rover

Report: Chip Kelly may have made his decision between UCLA and Florida

Editor’s note: 247Sports article saying Chip Kelly has accepted the UCLA job was removed by the site.

Former Oregon and NFL coach Chip Kelly is a hot commodity on the coaching market in recent weeks, but has reportedly narrowed his focus to the open Florida and UCLA jobs.

However, according to new reports, he may have already made up his mind between the two schools.

The UCLA 247Sports site reports that their sources have said Kelly has decided to become UCLA’s new head coach:

A large number of reliable sources in the coaching and agent worlds are indicating that Chip Kelly has decided to coach at UCLA.

It’s obviously not official yet, but the report states that Kelly has been reaching out to potential assistants to gauge their interest in joining him at UCLA:

Not only is that the consistent buzz among agents, but some assistant coaches who have previously worked with Kelly are telling various sources that they’ve spoken to Kelly about specifically joining him on the UCLA staff.

This is certainly an interesting report, but until a deal is signed, anything can happen. Florida won’t give up on Kelly, but it is clear that UCLA won’t, either.

I'm adding another name to the list - Paul Johnson of Georgia Tech. They're 5-5 (one game cancelled due to weather) with only UGA left. I was watching a replay of their game with Duke (5-6, 2-5 in ACC) that they lost 43-20. He looked bored. No passion, no fire. He's 73-50 (.593) at Tech. He's never won the ACC Conference title. If he's not scheduled to go, he needs to be.

You may be on to something, but they did win the ACC in '09 with Johnson, and they've beaten UGA two out of the last three years (that buys some goodwill). They lifted a cap on admission requirements from having 20 percent not meet GaTech admission requirements (but meet NCAA requirements) to having the entire class not meet the requirements. I believe they've had three recruiting classes under the new guidelines.

I agree Johnson is a sour technician. Perhaps that resonates with the engineering community.

If UGA grinds them into a pulp Saturday, the administration may realize they have to make a change.

RTR,

Tim
