šŸˆ "Homesick" Arik Gilbert reportedly looking to leave LSU

It’s almost like he didn’t really want to go there but the decision wasn’t all his... wonder why that is?
This is literally working out the same way we suggested/speculated it would a few months ago. Specifically, LSU bringing Woodward in since he's a "good ol' boy." They expected for him to, and he has, turn what's basically a blind eye towards the football program. (Some strong connections have stated it's his thought they'd sacrifice basketball for the football program.)

Now we've got, for one, the Title IV issues who have severely undermined any credibility Orgeron had within the walls of that department. He's lost that team (and if you want video evidence of that look at how they are responding to him in the video clip of him losing his shit.)

Homesick? I'm more inclined to think he's missing a team, not so much home life.

You know what's crazy, Bran? With all of the off-the-field stuff we've seen in Missouri over the last five to eight years here we are with those Tigers being the healthiest of the Tiger programs in the SEC.

BTW, going back to something mentioned a week or so before the first scheduled LSU game.

By my math I'd put LSU's scholarshipped players in the mid-50's (versus the 85.) I want to say I counted 56 but I'd have to go find the thread or count again. (Meh on that right now.)

With Gilbert included I've heard as many as eight others who are on the brink of leaving. Those eight were names I recognized. "A few more" wouldn't be a shock. If we assume it's eight and only eight, we're looking at LSU closing the season with a roster of around 45 scholarshipped players. (See why they self imposed sanctions on the 85 number, not the 25?)

Definitely something else behind the Gilbert decision to sign with LSU. He was Alabama until he made his decision on air. Something fishy going on as you're stating. Would love him to transfer to Alabama for a couple of years. Obviously coming home to Athens would be a waste as you can see how they brought Darnell Washington all the way over from Vegas and utilize him zero.

Of course room will be made for a 5*. Was more a general comment about the guys going into the portal expecting to land somewhere. Has the NCAA addressed how their going to support this?

I would imagine with so many guys leaving early that it will all figure itself out. What's to say many of these guys are actually going to stay for that extra year? A lot of the opt-outs and such are going pro, not transferring or staying in school. Look at Mac for instance. Who on Earth thought he was a three year guy, outside of @TerryP that expressed the possibility before anyone else?

That is going to be addressed in a meeting in January. I'm betting we'll know before NSD in February.

(...said assuming everyone knows the change is going to be in the 85.)
