🏈 Here's my guess at the offensive starting lineup for Louisville. Thoughts

If it's a tie going into the game, Hurts will be the starter. Tua will need to be clearly ahead to get the start. Both will play no matter what. Doesn't mean things won't change for game 2.

I think you're looking at a formal 2 QB system this year. Strangely, it may be best for team unity... especially if both QBs perform well in regard to their skill set.

It will be a 2 QB system... But more of a 70/30 QB system with Jalen only getting a handful of snaps.

If Jalen is starting and Tua is healthy, expect a Blake Barnett move (and a lot of escape right moves).

Assuming Terry likes D. Smith as the 3rd receiver?? I do. I KNOW we both like big Womack somewhere in that line up.

Not sure about TE but thought Irv Smith had the inside track... I know Foristall did some good things before the injury.

Good topic! The more interesting one would be who starts on D? RTR

Here's why I put a question mark beside Wills. One, when he was recruited it was his intent--and still may be--to be a tackle in college and also in the league. Is he going to be a "team guy" or is he going to be a "tackle only guy."

Add to that Leatherwood. He has snaps at guard and has done pretty well there from what I've learned. My suspicion is we see a battle for LG with Wills and Leatherwood.

That being said...I LOVE the idea of Williams, Womack, and Piers for the left side if one of the aforementioned can fill that RT spot. I so loved the day when was saw Alexander behind the left side (Samuels.)

If we see a dual-quarterback rotation I don't think it's safe to say it'll be 70/30. I'm of the opinion it'll be more opponent driven--which QB gives the team the best option(s.) Jalen running against a line like LSU's? That's a Tua game in my opinion. Against a team like UArk where they can ground and pound? That's a Jalen game. (Opinion or desire...your call there on what I"m thinking.)

Yes. Devonta before Waddle.

TE: Henges is who I had in mind. Do we see a running TE group and a passing TE group like we've seen in the past?

Hurts certainly won't be the starter based on the spring game. That wasn't just a failure, it was a gameday meltdown that some want to pretend didn't happen. No Tua to push and get on the nerves. No pressure to win a meaningful ballgame and yet that was pretty much the same Jalen we saw at the end of the season. No processing, no confidence, no timing.

For some reason, there are also a lot of Bama folks not processing the frustration of our head coach on an open mike as Hurts gave us the same one read and run approach for 4 quarters of football. Even Kiffin as a freshman was able to convince Jalen to throw the dam ball. Guys, that game looked mental. He's not just being careful with the ball, he's getting where he just doesn't want to throw it.

Both the passing and running attacks will be more competent with Tua in the game... For obvious reasons. In fact, the running game efficiency is what I'm most excited about.

Jalen used simply to limit TO's and for team motivation/chemistry. But... his passing yards per attempt should be seriously improved by the way defenses will react to him under center and Tua on the sideline.

I'm sure they were/are able to talk him into it, especially with the promise that he will get a chance there in the future considering Jonah is likely gone after this year. Saban probably pointed out there is more money for a guy that is versatile at the positions he can play than a guy that can only play tackle, too.

If he plays for Saban, he will be a team guy. Otherwise, he won't play for Saban. Nick has a way of persuading players to do the right thing.
