I caught this from our ol' pal Phil Marshall's predictions for the upcoming season.

"Since Shug Jordan came to Auburn in 1951, Auburn teams with fewer than two losses going into the Iron Bowl are 10-4 (wins 1957, 1958, 1963, 1972, 1983, 1987, 1993, 2004, 2010, and 2013; losses in 1960, 1971, 1974 and 1994)."

Bama fans, what part of this is missing? :rolf:

Had an AU friend send me something like that....my conclusion....
AU is the greatest program ever......
My hats off to them for their domination of Bama...
I wonder..flipped sided...whats Bamas record with Fewer than 2 losses... for same period...vs AU...

Aubie math. Seen it before.

Notice, a 10-4 record since 1951. So, 66 years is our base, right? 14 of those 66 years they've had two or more losses going into the Alabama vs Auburn game. But, we don't want to concentrate on those 52 years, just 14 of the 66.

Those other 52 years don't count.

I've had conversations with Auburn fans and they always try to find the angle that makes them seem more dominant in the rivalry. If you say what's the record in the last 5, 10, 15, 20 etc. games they will bend it to their favor. During the 90's they would say we own Bama since Bear died. Or when they had their 7 game win streak they claimed superiority.

So lets look at the numbers, you know facts.
34 game since Coach Bryant passed 17-17 is the record.
Last 20 games 10-10 is the record.
Last 15 games 8-7 Auburn leads. So if you mention the last 10 games they may jump to the 15 games.

But the last ten games Bama leads 7-3 and in those ten games Auburn's victories averaged a 4.6 point difference. While in Bama's seven wins the margin is 23.3 points.

Overall in the past 34 games the margin of victory for Auburn is 6.35 (four wins by double digits) while Bama's margin of victory is 15.11 (10 wins by double digits). And six of those double digit wins for Bama are under Saban.

Sorry, I'm an analyst and love numbers.
