🧑‍🤝‍🧑 / 🏡 Here's a kitchen that works for me. With one addition...

Needs brighter lighting
Do you use different levels of lighting in your kitchen? My chandelier in the middle of the kitchen has three. I use one at night, one in the afternoon, and then there's the cleaning brightness.

I suspect this kitchen is the same.

(I've seen some counter lights that provided plenty.)

Too bland? Not a lot of black or white, really.

(I'm assuming that marble look is more to the gray side than beige.) I've got white cabinets, black appliances, with the floor that beige tone marble.
All the same color, needs some variation. Refers to black and white in pictures but can also mean of the same hue.

While I love clean counters...

The Keurig is going to be there. Micro, toaster/toaster oven, and Air Fryer are there. It would look like a kitchen, ya know?

BUT. I love the way that cleans up.

(I have no idea what my microwave weighs. The turntable has to be a couple of pounds. I sure as hell am not putting it in a cabinet.)

I like the fridge.

Actually, I was thinking in the island: top left in the image. It struck me as a perfect "warming area" for breakfast around the island...that kind of set up.
I see where you're talking about now, thought you were referring to the sink in the island. I'd wanna do my cooking on the island not facing the cabinets. I like the warming area idea but I'd rarely use it, maybe holiday meals.

It does look clean but I prefer the functional homey look without being cluttered.

I wouldn't host those. Too many friends with wives. 🙃 But, it's not uncommon to have four or five here ... I was thinking things like gravy, keeps sides warm, etc.

I like the modern look though not enough to change my kitchen that way. It fits that "luxury" beach house look and I'd be good with that for a little while.

While I like some of the new ideas they're good where they are, ya know?

It’s cooking brightness or off. I don’t see the point of romance lighting in the kitchen

A glass of water in the middle of the night. Turning the coffee on in the morning. I don't want full brightness; why?

Hell, watching a ball game and hitting the kitchen...no need for full bright to grab another drink, etc.

I can see where it would be useful on game days when people snack for a while if you like having people over. I really don't want to watch a game with many people and usually if I'm doing something with friends we're outside. My wife's friends would come over and hang out but I'm usually ending up outside by a fire or something.

Oh! IF it's Bama, that would be keeping MY chili warm or MY cheese dip warm. Even still, my friends and I don't really get together on the weekends other than holiday weekends. That's always been a "family" thing with the "group" having M-F. A few wives in our little clique but without their husbands. Literally, the husbands came after we all met each other.
