Saban looks pissed because he has to sit there and listen to the speech, instead of going over to the McCaffery's family and recruit his little brothers.

Thats freakin great. He is a soft spoken humble kid but he never shied away from letting people know how much winning that trophy meant to him. Its good to have lofty goals, work hard, and so awesome when they come true! Couldnt be happier for the kid.

What an amazing kid. I don't know how Saban does it this day in age because kids this talented, humble, and hungry and few and far in between.

Best part IMO was he barely looked down at his notes... Just spoke from the heart. RTR!!

What I like was, he didn't go up to the stand with the Heisman. He with right to his Mother and Dad and family. Then to Coach Saban, then he with to stand to make his speech. God,Family first then the Heisman.

This makes me think about Kiff for a second. Here's Henry, and he coached on the offense that featured Reggie Bush.

I wonder how many kids he's coached that were finalist?

It's almost like pundits are arguing against themselves since last night. Take Stewart Mandel for a second. Taken by itself this seems like a very reasonable suggestion to correct a perceived problem, right?

BUT WAIT! Was it a problem?

Chris Fowler: Which is it? A regional bias due to Stanford playing some night games or there is no regional bias? There is, but time slots? (FWIW, only half of their games were night games: kicked at 7:30 PT. Four of the seven nationally televised by ESPN, another by Fox. )

I'd prefer to see the past winner's votes be weighted to carry at least 1/3 of the total vote. They represent an adequate cross-section of the country, are the most vested in looking at the whole person and best talent to represent their select group. I think they are best qualified and least susceptible to regional bias and media hype because their vote selects another permanent member of their fraternity.
