🏈 Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry

Was hoping someone would hit that one. Can you be most outstanding if they don't use you for short yardage? :headscratch:
If there's one thing I've learned about this award the criteria for what it takes to win changes; seemingly, with each day.

Hell, Peyton lost the award due to a punt return if you think about it.

Yeah, just seems to me that you have a guy you obviously trust to do anything, you run 9 man offensive line sets, and you swap out arguably your most talented player with another player.

Changing the subject a bit, remember Barry Sanders kid plays for Stanford, that must be pretty cool to break his record and have that kinda access to a Legend.

He did get something like 1100 yards on returns with only 1 return for a TD.

And it helps that he was in top 3 of ko return attempts and top 10 of attempts per game on a team that was 38 in nation in scoring D.

For as much crap as the press has given DH for carries, McCaffery received 27.69 offensive touches a game to DH's 26.8, which doesnt account for his STs touches... of which DH wasnt asked to do. DH plays better run defenses with a less capable QB. Defenses stack 8-9 in the box focused on him and DH was still more effective in YPC than McCaffrey and drastically more efficient in scoring production.

All finalists are worthy, but DH was the most productive back in the country and team mvp for Bama. Without him, no SEC championship let alone a playoff berth. Not sure the same is true at Stanford given the other RBs, WRs, strength of OL and solid QB play
