I think we can all agree that Tua was an elite draft prospect that was valued in that 1-3 range before the season. Even dropping from #3 to #5 costs $3.3M. Pretty significant.

Beats me, but sitting out more than one year feels different no doubt. But what's the difference between two and three years of college experience at his level? I doubt pro scouts care, and now that he has a legit reason to sit (not to mention seeing what happened to Tua last year) I don't see how anyone other than die hard Clempsun fans could blame the guy.

Fair points for sure. I suppose I was focused more on advancing his football skills, which I would still have serious doubts about.

As for his commitment, while that's true, scholarships are also a one year deal. I have a son who is a D1 athlete (golf) and there's a lot of pressure to keep his game up. There are no guarantees from the school. Some may contend that works both ways.

By adult view, I mean business view.

Nothing is guaranteed, although people sometimes make decisions like they are guaranteed. The draft is so fluid in the top half a year out. It would be interesting to see how projections a year out align with reality.

Agreed. I'm so intrigued with the weapons on O... I actually think having the big 3 at WR (Mechie) will make life easier for Sark, as opposed to trying to keep 4 guys happy. Especially with Mechie has an under the radar guy right now. With Najee back and better than ever, no doubt we have an elite RB. Throw in Sanders, a quality option in Robinson, and these freshman... Looking fantastic. OL has experience, talent, depth. TE's a little questionable but if we find 1, that will be plenty.

That DL has all the makings of a special group. Still interested to see who outside of Barrimore will be in the backfield... And more importantly, get the QB to the ground. Freshman class likely has some players!
