| FTBL Greg Mac promoted to ESPN's #2 team

While college football sorts through the wreckage that is realignment, those who call the games have their own form of realignment.

With Todd Blackledge leaving ESPN to serve as the lead analyst on NBC's new Big Ten package, Greg McElroy has been promoted to the Worlwide Leader's No. 2 team.

ESPN announced Wednesday that McElroy, who previously worked with play-by-player Joe Tessitore, will join Sean McDonough and Molly McGrath on the "ESPN Saturday Night" package. That crew typically also calls a College Football Playoff semifinal game. The former Alabama quarterback has called games for ABC/ESPN for eight years and signed a "long-term contract extension" to remain with ESPN.

Former Arizona State and NFL quarterback Brock Osweiler, who made his TV debut last season, has also gotten a call up to analyze games alongside Dave Flemming and Kayla Burton, rounding out ESPN's top-tier crews.

Elsewhere, former Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason and former Mississippi State and Florida head coach Dan Mullen will call games for the network. They will be among an exceptionally rare group of former coaches serving as game analysts.
