🏈 Greatest Improvement is this week

I'm no coach, but have done my fair share of arm chair quarterbacking over the years.

They say this week is when a team makes it's greatest improvement. (week1 to week2) We all know that the team could have started a little better and certainly had trouble in the trenches early by the O-line, but how will we know this week? It will definitely be an apple and oranges comparison between USC and WKU as far as talent level.

I think we will see the following week against Ole Piss. I'm gonna call it now. We are gonna put a beat down on Ole Miss. Last year Saban eluded to the fact that the team was too hyped and lost focus. It was obvious as the game went on that they regained their composure and could/should have won the game. If you remember, a shoving/shouting match started with UGA and Saban gnawed that ass before the game and ask them if they wanted the same thing to happen them that day that happened with Ole Miss. We all know how that ended.

Said all that to say this. While I know coaches will be able to evaluate and see improvement from last week to this week, we as fans, will most likely be able to see the improvement next week when Bama travels to Oxford. Yes I know I'm doing the unpardonable sin of looking past WKU, but I'm a fan and have have the luxury of doing so.

Question for discussing. ...How do you all see the roles of our running backs developing as well as our o-line?

More of the same as Harris on the loose. With the exception of #2 running them down, thank goodness. These spread options are designed to put pressure on the edge and stretch the field vertically and horizontally. When they pop, Emmons and Jacobs will be hauling the mail along with Harris and Bo.

Am I the only one that thinks Western Kentucky could be a better overall team than USC this year just with less depth? They certainly were last year... They're gonna spread the ball around a ton and put a lot of pressure on the DBs. QB just threw for nearly 600 yards this week. If the defense can put pressure on the QB with just four rushers again its gonna help alot and probably mean their QB is in for a long night.

I was impressed with Jacob's quickness to hit the hole and may be our third back. I believe he ended up with more carries and yards than Emmons Bo may still be a little banged up. Bigger, stronger backs like him usually draw the most attention of the defense. Harris ran well and will probably continue to be the starter.

Emmons got in trouble for almost fumbling on his first carry. I think Jacobs playing QB helped him understand his blocking assignments which may be why he was out there first, but Emmons will be special. #Bamaproblems

Beat down? Might want to reconsider. Hate him, but Kelly is a baller.

Biggest issues on the team IMO.

None of the RBs were effective in pass protection. Harris runs like mark ingram, but he blocks like Chris capps. The BB sack that knocked his shoe off was in Harris. BB wanted to step forward in the pocket to deliver the ball and avoid the outside rush, but the back blocked no one (except, I think, bozemans butt), and BB got crushed.

WkU won't have the near the D that USC had, so it should be a scrimmage for the most part, so long as the OL gets on same page early to give the QB a chance in the pocket. It is their offensive scheme that will be a pain. They have athletes, and an ability to cause issues.

I'd hate to have to pick a QB. BB is more accurate and has the stronger arm imo, but Jalen has the leadership intangibles and athleticism that create other advantages. Good place to be. This D is so salty, I think some of us could QB our way to a bowl game.
