High praise from a coach who loathes comparisons.
"I think everybody cares. Everybody cares," he said. "That's the most important thing about this team."
Saban descriptively left the door ajar to the Alabama locker room, painting a picture of the "special time" shared by players and staff.
"We always say a prayer at the end. We sing the fight song together as a team," Saban said. "It's a pretty unique three or four minutes. It's great to be a part of a group. That's one of the great things about being part of a team. You only have so many great victories. The hard work, the perseverance, the togetherness that you have, there's that moment of joy where everybody kind of gives thanks for it and also gets pretty excited about singing the fight song and doing a little cheer."
The guy respects our traditions while adding a few of his own. One of his all time favorites? The folks in Baton Rouge have to love that.
