Context: I found I'd been charged twice on my MC for car insurance. Not a big deal. Their site was screwing up on uploads, still charged my card, and I called the office the next morning (not knowing it had been charged) and paid it "again."

So, I looked at the account a few minutes ago to see if they'd credited the amount back. Yes, last Saturday. That was cool. But then I noticed something else (I've thought about mentioning this.)

I realized I'd ran out of milk the other day. I ran up to Family Dollar, bought a gallon. Now, the same day I went to the 7-11 to grab some beer. I get cash back on groceries, but didn't on the milk that day. But, continually, I get cash back from the 7-11 on beer because it goes through as a gas purchase. Hell, bought cigs; cash back. Now I'm wondering if I'm getting the same deal on my Discover or Visa. Which one has the most cash back for beer?

The MADDstercard.

I have Capital One MC. I get cash back on everything. Lowest is 1%, but things like gas, groceries, and other things are 2-3%. And sometimes, they'll offer a higher percentage at certain places. But the only way to get the higher % is to go through the app (or web site) that directs you to the proper site to order online. I've done that a few times when the percentage is 5% or higher. I remember one being 12%.

Currently, they have up to 3% back at both Lowe's and HD, 4% back at Sportsman's Guide (which I order from a bit), 3% back at Tractor Supply, 15% at Otterbox, up to 20% at Office Depot, 7% at Darn Tough (good socks, I own several pair)... again, you have to go through the app or the Capital One site to get that deal, but it's quick and painless.

Definitely a Cap One thing through Cap One Shopping. I've mentioned having a checking account through them due to the free and ease of their ATM's. As soon as I opened that I found out all those things.

CVS is on that list at six percent back. Bama stuff through Fanatics is one of them.
