Went and got a load of marble rock for one of my flower beds. I found a place close by that sells it by the yard or 1/2 yard. I got a 1/2 yard (my truck won't safely carry a full yard and I don't want to have to buy a new transmission or a new suspension) and put it out. I normally buy it in bags from Lowe's, but this was way cheaper and all I had to do was unload it. They loaded it with a skid-steer while I sat in the air-conditioned truck. But unloaded was another story. It wasn't all that bad due to me being in the shade. But it was still hot as fire outside. I was sweating so much I looked like I jumped in a pool while fully clothed. And of course there was spillage on the ground so I had to clean that up...by hand. And then I had to spray out the bed of my truck. Then I decided to go to Lowe's and get come weed killer concentrate and spray that around some areas. And while that isn't hard work, it's still hot and humid outside and I sweat rather easily; always have.

So yeah, it's hot and I don't like it. But now I'm inside the cool house with my steak being cooked via sous vide. But I got me a nice, cold Dr Pepper so I'm doing all right, now.

How's everyone else's day going?

Brutal. But as much as I hate it, I kinda feel like we got some extended grace before the real summer heat rolled in this year.... I cut the yard this am about 10 and like you, it was like I needed an IV when I got done. I was about to weed eat and a friend called and I sat outside talking to him for about 30 minutes... when I hung up, I was done. Weed eating will have to wait for another day. Then wrapped up the shrimp boil outside about an hour ago and I'm still trying to cool down from that. Will probably jump in the pool later since I've gotta get another shower at this point anyway. Also, there has been zero wind today at my place. Not even the slightest of a breeze to make it a tad more comfortable.

In Newport, Rhode Island, today. I took this screenshot.

I'm not making light of these durn Yankees, but as a native Alabamian, this is... Something we don't see everyday (EVER).
HA! 76° is an extreme heat warning. I've seen very close to that temperature on Christmas day, here. Of course their winters are way more brutal than hours, so there's a trade off, there.

Helping move my son in Baton Rouge. It was in the 90's the vast majority of the day, a high of 98, and humid is an understatement. Roll-up door on the U-Haul trailer broke, and after the roadside guy (who was great and on-time, I might add) worked on it for two hours, then they allowed me to swap it out - 28 miles away. Feeling a little dehydrated this morning.

On the positive side, Red Stick is flat, and I'm only dealing with limited stuff up a flight of stairs, and that part is done. Today will be more of the same, but even with the U-Haul delay, we got the worst knocked out.

The weather casters go crazy up here when it get warm in the SUMMER. Today, in southern Ohio there was a predicted high of 91 and today it’s supposed to go up to 92. All the local meteorologist had a field day talking about the heat. Heck, even most of the newscast was devoted to the extreme heat.

This reminds me of how the southern newscasters and meteorologists go crazy with the POSSIBLE prediction of snow.

BTW, I spent about 3-4 hours outside cutting and trimming trees in the yard. Yes, it was hot but it’s officially summer.
