🏈 Going to the SEC Championship Game and Need Info!

BAMA is away and in the dome the away team is opposite the press box. BUT now stubhub updated the seating chart and BAMA is under the press box and the field is split from the middle sidline to the other instead of in the end zone like games before. My gosh man! DANG!

Wait, folks have a problem with chili dogs from The Varsity? I'm as big a food snob as anyone, but come on... that's good eats.

I'm glad someone understood where I was coming from with the suggestion. I didn't offer it as a gourmet meal or a place you would order a filet, or even the best place in Atlanta to freaking eat, just meant it as a quick pit stop on your way to the stadium. Call it what you want, but they have a damn good chili dog.

@AFF You are not being a realistic Southerner. Going to the Varsity once for a Southerner is equal to a Texan going to the Alamo. It has a long and heralded history, more so than any other place in the south. It was there in 1969 and is there bigger and better in 2014. How can you not pass up two (death rods) Chilly Cheese Onion Hot dogs with fantastic fries or onion rings and best of all a Peach soda to wash it down with. Wow I am getting epic heart burn just thinking about it, but I will have to go there the next time I am in Atlanta. There is nothing like it except Miss Pitty Pat's Porch.

I think nicknames like 'death rods' says it all. If you have the curiosity (and the constitution) I say go for it. Grady and Emory hospitals are close by.... My kids used to love going there when they were young - I think mostly for the atmosphere. It's a little loud and hectic for my taste. But hey, it's cheap grub. I guess it depends on the type of experience you're looking for.

A note - it's more of a Georgia Tech thing being next to their campus. You might consider a car or MARTA to/from the Dome area. They do have a Varsity off 400 (Exit 9) in Alpharetta if you want the food a little faster in a less stressful environment. It's not as HUGE as the original but it is the same food and whaddya have concept. There's also a Dreamland BBQ off 400 (Exit 8) in Alpharetta.

My wife is afraid people will be drunk and cursing and taunting us. We've only been to BAMA home games. Never away. Thoughts?

I wouldn't worry at this game. It'll be about as close to a Bama home game as you can get outside of Tuscaloosa - especially against Missouri. We travel well, they don't. I suspect it will be over 75% Bama fans (guess). Loud cursing in general by pockets of young fans? Maybe. Directed at you and your wife? I seriously doubt it.

I think they seriously only get like that against Kansas. Like AFF said, that will be the least thing you'll need to worry about, because it's not a hostile atmosphere. I have been to away games, home games, and bowl games and have only had to deal with bad fans once, and that was against Notre Dame in Miami. Everywhere else and every other fanbase has been good. Obviously a little jabbering, but no cuss words or threats, just good football banter. Hopefully your section will be empty by the third quarter anyways, :-).

And if you're still worried, there is a guy on Atlanta Craigslist that is wanting to trade lower level tickets so he can be in the Missouri Section. Trade with him and all your worries are solved. He's in 121 he told me.

121 is not in the M0 section. To my knowledge the tickets have always been split thusly:
