Ok, so this is kind of fun to just get opinions out there and blood flowing. This is an excerpt from Rivals about the Playoff possibilities...

Finally, let’s pretend you’re the college football playoff committee and the following things happen, what would you do? This could make you dizzy.

• Scenario No. 1 — Alabama loses to Auburn, Auburn loses to Georgia and Ohio State beats Wisconsin. Clemson beats Miami and Oklahoma wins out. Alabama is 11-1, Georgia 12-1, Ohio State 11-2, Wisconsin 12-1, Clemson 12-1, Miami, 12-1, Oklahoma 12-1. Who are your top four?

• Scenario No. 2 — Clemson loses to South Carolina but beats Miami and Alabama runs the table. Do both Miami and Clemson get in from the ACC, Clemson as a two-loss champ, ahead of either the Big Ten or Big 12 champ?

• Scenario No. 3 — Wisconsin runs the table but Auburn beats Alabama and Georgia and wins the SEC. Assuming the ACC gets one spot, OU gets another and Auburn a third, does Alabama with one loss fall behind Wisconsin or do the Badgers get screwed?

• Scenario No. 4 — Ohio State wins out beating ranked Michigan and Wisconsin and Oklahoma loses a game. Does Ohio State get in with two losses, one of them to Oklahoma, over the Sooners with two losses?

• Scenario No. 5 — Alabama loses to Auburn, Auburn loses to Georgia and Miami, Oklahoma and Wisconsin win out. The records: Alabama 11-1, Georgia 12-1, Miami 13-0, Oklahoma 12-1, Wisconsin 13-0. Is Alabama out?

I happen to think that even with one loss, either to Auburn or Georgia, Alabama gets in. I still hold the idea that no one is considered the National Champion unless they can get past an undefeated or one loss Alabama team. Oklahoma's loss to Iowa State is the worst loss on the board and will be of the teams considered, unless Ohio State rolls in with the Iowa ass whooping, which would in turn be the worst loss. Call me a homer, but with our talent and roster, you simply cannot leave us out for a team like a Wisconsin, Oklahoma, or anyone. We're the biggest draw in the nation and we've built that reputation by going out there year after year and dismantling folks, all this with a huge target on our backs. All of that will be taken into consideration, plus our schedule is looking better and better with LSU, Mississippi State, Auburn, and potentially Georgia.

Scenario 1 response - Alabama, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Clemson

Scenario 2 response - Alabama, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and Clemson

Scenario 3 response - Auburn, Oklahoma, Miami/Clemson, Alabama

Scenario 4 response - Oklahoma gets nod due to head to head and that Ohio State got smoked by Iowa.

Scenario 5 response - Georgia, Miami, Oklahoma, and Alabama

If its a close game, I think BAma gets in with one loss no matter what. I just don't see that happening. I see Alabama losing in the first round of the playoffs after running the table though the SECCG. Probably to Oklahoma...

I think Ohio State is out no matter what given the 2 loss status and one of them being as terrible as it was. I do think they probably beat Wisconsin though.. knocking them out of the playoffs.

Clemson will win out and hand Miami their first loss knocking them down. If Bama wins out Miami could stay in the playoff if their game with Clempsum is close. Like this --->

If Bama wins out, it is ----->

Alabama
Clemson
Oklahoma
Miami

If Barn wins out and Iron bowl is close, Miami could also stay in with a close loss to Clempsum. Bama could also stay in with this scenario at #4.

Oklahoma
Clemson
Barn
Bama

If Bama beats Barn and then loses to UGA leaving UGA with only one loss, UGA proceeds to the playoff and BAma rounds out the playoff 4 (if it's a close game)

Oklahoma
Clemson
UGA
Bama

If Bama wins out, it is ----->

Alabama
Clemson
Oklahoma
Miami

In all honesty, I don't the our SOS would support a loss to aU or UGA... We'd need a lot of magic to happen and my head hurts trying to think of it.... Let's just win out and not have to worry about it.

On the other hand, the playoff committee gave deference to OSU because it felt a QB injury was why OSU lost to some piddly team early in the season. Bama has been decimated at the LB position. Any deference here? Perhaps?

who knows... but I don't believe the committee will place two teams from the SEC in the bracket for a rematch... unless there is a lot of outside help. JMO... could be very wrong. Just win out and we don't have to find out.

Just win out!!! A loss next weekend or in ATL the following weekend would have some committee guys saying, " they had a shitload or LB injuries this year!" while others would say, "well, they got them back and lost!" Imagine there is some BAMA fatigue in there.

Am I losing my mind and still hung over from Friday.... or has Gary Danielson talkin crap by saying that Georgia is going to meet either Alabama or Auburn in the SEC playoff for a spot in the final 4. Auburn's 9-2.... a two-loss team (one inside the SEC)..... so even a win over us (11-0) wouldn't put their win/loss above us... soooooo how could they vault themselves into the SEC championship. Or is that better Scotch than I imagined?

If Auburn wins next weekend they go to the SEC Championship since they only have one SEC Loss to LSU. Their other loss was to Clemson. That would put us in a position of needing some help to get into the top 4 but they would already be there.
How would Bama drop below OU when they lost to an unranked ISU team and Bama lost to a top 10 team? If it's indeed the "resume" then Clemson should be below Bama with their loss to 'Cuse.

DING! DING! DING! that is all you had to post about this. I really didn't watch this game, but I will say he talk about the FG and K6 more than one time? Old Vern is talking about the same thing and he not in the booth this year!

Scenario 1 response - Alabama, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Clemson (fourth team is between Bama, Wisc and Miami .. Ohio State out no matter what)

Scenario 2 response - Alabama, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and Miami ( ....Clemson is out no matter what)

Scenario 3 response - Auburn, Oklahoma, Miami/Clemson, Wisc

Scenario 4 response - Oklahoma gets nod due to head to head and that Ohio State got smoked by Iowa. Maybe but depends on who Okl lost to.

Scenario 5 response - Georgia, Miami, Wisc, Oklahoma or Alabama (depends on how Bama lost... was it a convincing win for Auburn. I would have to lean towards Okl but if its a close game Bama would definitely have a good chance)

coming to think of these scenarios ... auburn doesnt care about close loss so they can and will take more risks in iron bowl
conversely bama does care about close loss and to prevent blowout will minimize risks in iron bowl
