🏈 Girls and Football

Personally, I think few things are hotter than a cute girl that knows her football. And one of those things for sure would be a cute girl that can actually throw a football and even wants to get in on a game of touch - football that is!!:smile::smile:

So, Bamacheer, one of the girls in your avatar has to be you, right? Everyone wants to know - which one?

I am the one with the skirt on, in the middle.

Guys:

How do you feel about girls that know and love football? Should the girl 'talk football' with the guys, or just stay quiet and enjoy it? (reminds me of the commercial where the girl says, 'Blitz?! They will just check off to a screen.') Should she get into the games, or just smile and look pretty? lol Should a girl play flag or touch football if she is athletic, or pass? Should she play Madden or Wii football?

I look froward to my fellow Bama fans' opinions and suggestions.

Thanks!
I really like it if a woman is knowledgeable about football, baseball or basketball.

Yes, I can talk football with any gender... but NOT during the game... Bama games, anyway!

Men and the fairer sex are just different and once the action starts, the women (generalizing, here, ok) notice, care, and usually talk about things differently than the boys. Almost invariably. Of course, there are some guys that I also cannot watch a ball game with.

For the BCSNCG I went to my father's house to watch with him. My wife and mother watched with us. Whew! Talk about trying my patience more than a few times (of course, I didn't let them know it. I know which side my bread is buttered on!).

I do love and appreciate all that is female & feminine, but there is only so much I can voluntarily take when it comes to watching a Bama game with one, God love 'em.

Girls knowing football is a plus for sure. I agree with what someone else said though, I hate talking football with folks who think they know whats going on. So,if she knows it......chime in, if not....eh, not so much.

I enjoy it when my wife has a good understanding of what is happening based on time & ball control but she has no desire to get into the small details.

Let me stress this though, I watched the '92 NC game w/ all the people that are 'Bama fans that I loved the most & it was one of the best memories of my life (I was 15).

Watching the BCS NCG this time included my wife but she made arrangements to leave about mid way (long story but lame) & it really soured the experience for me. I thought that she'd be stoked about this game (as it was her first NC game) as a football & 'Bama fan. Dude she didn't even wear 'Bama gear...just sweats & a scrunchie...

I wanted to share this game w/ her & she just dumped on it. So you ladies can make it go good & bad, especially if you're close to the guy.

As a girl who really likes football, you wouldn't want a guy who didn't like hearing you talk about football if you really love it and know what you are talking about. My husband and I really enjoy watching all of the games together and he always listens to what I have to say (although we don't always agree).

I'll talk football with anybody. My wife doesn't hardly know anything about football, but neither do my kids, but I can think of nothing better than when we all watched Bama win their 13th NC together.

It sounds like you have some work to do educating the family.

When my youngest had a short cub scout stint (I guess it was Kindergarten), one of the den leaders decided he would do a lesson on football. He started trying to describe how football was played and then progressed into asking general questions. In metro Atlanta, many of our young are impoverished in football knowledge because of soccer and such (the leader asked what a score was called and two kids answered "a goal"). At this point, he was getting in a ditch and he began to describe the process of getting a first down. He asked "how many tries does the team get to get a first down?". After glazed looks, my boy chimed in, "three, unless you want to go for it on fourth down".

Class dismissed.

Tim

Man my girl want even ATTEMPT to watch a game let alone talk football. It's quite sad, she even say "hook 'em horns" when I was leaving to go watch the game with the fam. Thought about dropkicking her ass out the door right there. The perfect girl would be one that loves to watch it and actually KNOWS it. Only thing worse than just ignoring football completely is the girls that act like they like it but have no clue what's going. "What does 1st and 10 mean?" *bangs my head against the desk*

Am I the only one here who thinks that whoever the guy is dating/married to Bamacheer07 just got put in a world of hurt by all you guys answers?
Ladies seldom ask a question "just because they are curious". At Least in my 11.5 years of marriage that has usually been the case.

But on the brite side if she is one of the girls in her avatar he could be in worse shape.......

It's a process. My lovely wife is from Kentucky, a state largely unaware of football. Her cheerleading was for basketball, not football. She's become quite the educated fan.

I been trying man. I think she secretly loves it and just says she hates to piss me off. I aint never seen her in no Auburn shirt and then all of a sudden one day she comes to my house wearing a damn Auburn jersey. I have that 'just got knocked silly' look on my face and she innocently says 'whaat?' then of course my dad, cousin, and uncle simultaneously yell "HELL NO! Get her ass outta here". Ahhh just another day... lol

I love it when the ladies know and love football. My wife took a huge interest a few years ago and started attending games with me. Sure she asks questions here and there. but the more she learns she asks. And she is louder than me on Saturdays. Heck, even in our house. LOL!

Cheer, I believe girls are more than just pretty faces to sit and smile, that stuff went out a long time ago. And my fondest memories in our old neighborhood were playing backyard football. We had a girl that could bring the pain. Man she could hit, and she was awfully cute too. haha

Sure, lets play some NCAA or Madden on the XBox or Wii. Bring it. ;)
