I read somewhere else it was a done deal. Now I got to go see where I saw it. I think it was in a thread on here? Also it was someone twitter account maybe?
I wasn't sold on Lambert before the season started. This just goes to show how recruiting QBs is a damn crapshoot!! Ramsey was highly ranked and hasn't panned out either. Faton was a 3 star and had several offers.
Bauta should have been the guy to start the season. Word from camp was that he outperformed everyone. His goal last year was to get the chance to start, so it appears he will get his chance this year.
Funny contrast. Beginning the year Bama was uncertain at QB. Now 7-8 games in these teams that supposedly had clear cut QB's are suddenly shuffling, i. e. aTm, uga, etc and Jake is just chugging right along

Texas A&M for example...Last year they had Kenny "Thrill" Hill smoke South Carolina the opening game of the season (you should have seen the Aggies around here) only to get get replaced 7 games later by Kyle Allen after the Alabama game. This year, Kyle Allen had similar preseason hype, only two be replaced the game after Alabama (I believe he hurt his shoulder in the Alabama game so a little different). This has me wondering, how many QB's will Sumlin burn? How does a QB commit to this guy going forward is what I'm left wondering...
I think Sumlin has been in a slow motion train crash since he was hired, Johnny Manziel slowed that down a bit, but in a weird way he probably speed it back up again due to the expectations. Sumlin was lucky enough to step into a team that had NFL caliber offensive lineman (NFL draft proven), that cupboard is now empty and the end result will be the train crash. Sumlin has certainly gotten the "yell leader nation" in an uproar spending $500m on a stadium upgrade, overpaying for Sumlin to the tune of $5m a year, and reaching into Louisiana to snag a DC from LSU.
So this has me wondering, would CNS pull a QB mid season based on performance? I don't think he would...because we have a much different situation. I think CNS does a good job keeping the clutter at bay and putting his QB in a spot to be successful.

Top 10 QB's (pro) out of that class include names like Conner Brewer and Gunner Kiell...step out of the top 10 a bit and you'll find Zeke Pike and Trevor Knight. 2012 ... not a good Pro style QB class; at all.
There is a lot of back and forth about Saban's philosophy etc. It is really just a case of he believes in putting a balanced package together that can weather and even succeed those times when one individual position may be a bit less talented than the others. Sumlin and Malathion (gus) are 2 examples of coaches who really require a superstar at the QB position because the rest of their philosophy is so lacking. Some folks damn him for not shuffling players around as much (OM game was a rarest of rare exception, starting Bateman) but it also leads to CNS not making these panicky snatch 'em in and out decisions. JMO
He's my favorite player on this team. Goes 21/27 for 250+ yards with a game winning drive, and people still talk bad about him. He plays with more heart than I believe I've ever seen. Those runs are amazing.
I won't say he is my favorite but he has earned a healthy dose of respect from me. He still scares me badly at times but he has shown nothing but heart since coming off the bench against OM
Mark my words, Bauta won't play the entire game. I know Richt is trying to create a spark, but maybe he's hoping that Lambert comes off the bench and shows some heart like Coke

Obviously, Richt wants to do something to get that offense started after that debacle from last week. There could be a little longer term strategy at play with Bauta can transfer w/o penalty next year for his last year (already graduated).

Baits played a pretty good game. His team has butter fingers. Also #4 sh I uld be their every down back. Bring in #1 on 3rd down. Uga has offensive offense problems. Their d played a half decent game.
