🏈 georgia-celebration penalties-irony

it just dawned on me that georgia who lost to lsu because of a bogus celebration call, is the same georgia that took the penalty intentionally against florida just a year or so ago...

and the real irony is that all the hooplah about green "just celebrating with the team" is the same thing they intentionally did to get that penalty against florida.. there was no taunting or directing towards the crowd, just celebrating with the entire team..

just a small thought that just crossed my mind.. a little late i know, but a thought still the same..

Not even the same thing though. It cost GA the game
Vs LSU for a penalty that should have never been called. The Florida game, the whole team ran out and they did it to hype up the team.

my point is that they used that penalty to gain momentum, that is what some would call dirty play.. like hitting the qb late on purpose...

the irony is that that penalty is what the claim beat them against lsu and they are whining about it.. seems like a good lesso in karma to me..

are you a georgia fan or something?

in all honesty charles scott is to blame for the loss.

Doesn't matter if I am a fan or not. Does it ? I am not being biased. lol The long run did lose them the game. But lets say the ball was kicked deep because there was no penalty and they were further out at maybe they're own 25 yard line. The run may have been a pass and there for never would have happened. I just think the refs don't need to intervene with a call in such a close game. Especially an excessive celebration call.

Call it kharma if you want, I just don't see them two games relating to one another.

not a very philisophical crowd.

here it goes.. one last shot..

all the georgia fans are saying that it was a bad call because green didn't taunt the other team and didn't direct actions toward the crowd....

BUT....

they did neither of those things when they got the penalty against florida either...

the irony is that the steps they took to get the penalty against florida are the same things that they are saying is not a penalty now.

i''m not arguing the calls. just noticing how georgia took the same rule and made it work for them one day, then blamed the rule when it worked against them..

This right here

so much for fun n friendly football banter. you have proven yourself correct. i appologise for even the notion there are subtle obscurities in every aspect of life that leave some to wonder.

You are pointing out an irony and I get it. I am not sure lilstat caught that or not but I understand the point you are trying to make. Add to that Dooley being the guy instrumental in getting that rule passed and you have irony all over the place with regard to that call.

Irony in this, not so much. I definitely see what you're getting at though, the whole celebration for a penalty was planned last year, but this year, not planned and it cost them the game. Guess you should be careful when it comes to celebrating eh?

But I don't think you could find two more different scenarios. What AJ Green did was perfectly acceptable and I doubt that anyone on the LSU sideline was screaming for an unsportsmanlike penalty. It was completely unwarranted.

Whereas the stunt they pulled to fire up the team last year (or whenever) was the definition of unsportsmanlike. That flag was certainly warranted.

I thought it was friendly ? Well, at least up until that comment. I am not here to make enemies. lol Next time I just won't post in your topics if you feel I was bashing you or anything. I was only stating my opinion which is why I thought we all used these boards. My fault.

My thoughts exactly.
