I don't see it that way. IF they were talking about how good this UA team was this season it would fit with my definition of "rat poison." These are reports, coming from FSU, about all camp struggles.
Any article that plays up our strengths or highlights opponent weaknesses (poor conditioning, internal strife, coaches taking a public platform on the kids) can affect player mindsets, suggesting a coming cakewalk in Tallahassee.

Rat poison.

It doesn't mention any strength or weaknesses (unless we're calling "season opener" a description of the UA team?) It's an article from one of their beat writers talking about their issues mentioning Alabama only in reference to the first game. I'm lost.

Those issues Tony White must be seeing resulted in one of the two deep in their secondary quitting yesterday.

That's the one. "Season opener."

There is a Bama 'connection' there. She's alum. (Unless something has changed she's an SN beat writer and contributes to SDS.) Other than that? The story originated from Tallahassee's paper. I just don't see it, Tim. 🤷‍♂️

Any article that touts the Tide or poormouths the opponent is rat poison. I'm not sure what there isn't to see.

I can easily see how a reporter saying "they are going to be great" before the season kicks off as rat poison.

I don't understand how a reporter, reporting what is happening now, is rat poison when he's just reporting the facts of fall camp.

Oh well.

I hope our players have a mindset that Gus can be a sob, has beaten us before, and hates Bama. Every week we’re getting each team’s best. It was a challenge for the goat to keep kids head straight. It’ll be a challenge for CKD also.

Regardless, you have to continue to improve all season.

Slow weekend led me to look at FSU a little more than I'd normally do on an opening weekend. Too many unknowns, ya know?

This game? It's starting to rival other openers where I've said, "hang on a second." Notably with this game, Clemson.

After reading and watching several reports on FSU I realized they have the same conclusions I had a week ago: "who there knows what's going on?"

They are still working on starting guards while trying to teach the tackles the offense (tackles with injuries in spring installs.) Hey, this would be a slight bump in the road except there are fifty, 50, players on that roster that weren't there a year ago. (Hell, two starters are guys who left Bama with loaded position groups.) There's a good chance four of the five of their OL are new (experienced at other places) to playing with each other.

Has anyone heard the word "gel" when talking about an offensive line? 🤷‍♂️ Just sayin' ...

'We know the names, but' ... that's become such a funny phrase to me when I hear it from those folks.

I have a part of me that hopes FSU is better than they were last year. I don't want to see an opponent, opener for that matter, struggle to score twice. (That would be an improvement for them.)
