| FTBL Game Week: Alabama vs. Missouri (press conferences, news updates, discussion)

Well, table is leaning in our favor it seems. I was really hoping we would get their vest as I think Missouri is a good team and can push our defense. A win is a win, buy you always want someone's best.

From my observation I believe any team will push our defense.
....................... Okay.

The reaction regarding our Bama's D has been little overblown for the most part. What I"m seeing is defense improving each week. They did pretty decent job against Tennessee for the most part. It was little things on both side of the ball that caused us to lose the game.

If everything I'm reading about the Bama football ( which is whole bunch of negativity and whining from bama fans) I think The team comes out with much better performance this Saturday. Hopefully it'll silence the whiner, the haters, the complainer, the crying fans.

I think I understand where you are coming from, but our defense has not played terribly. One has to look at the offense and what situations it puts our defense. Georgia game for example, our offense sucked in the second half and the defense was out there most of the Half it felt. Defense was lights out when the offense did its job. South Carolina was some of the same when you look at turnovers and alike. Vanderbilt was the only game this year I felt we looked terrible on defense from what I saw and read about.

I think the defense did an amazing job against Tennessee. I still want to see more pressure and blitzing, but that is a coaching deal, nothing with the players outside of our line finding ways to get home.

Imagine the meltdown if Bama goes on a run here and gets into the CFP at the end of the year, how many of these. "CKD is not the guy and Kane Wommack and Sheridan are terrible" people are going to be losing their minds and mad that they can't say shit. We could hoist the trophy at the end and they'd be yelling about "But we lost to Vandy! We Don't deserve to win it all!"
Not true…I am one of the fans who is disgusted with the lack of discipline on both sides of the ball. From how it has looked to me…I don’t believe the coordinators can fix it. I believe in CKD, but even Nick Saban hired bad coordinators from time to time .

If this team fixes their shit and goes on a run I will be more than happy to come on here and say that I’m wrong. It would be amazing if that happened and they could build on success instead of failure.

Noted.

I agree with you here the D played good enough to win the game. I’ll admit I’ve been bitching and moaning, but I’m done with that. I have vented enough for a lifetime. At least for the time being…..

RTR!!!!!

I am struggling seeing this when the D gave up 400+ yards and over 200 rushing. At times they have looked good for a half but then they implode. I will never describe a Bama defense as doing an amazing job with those stats. When I see this team getting off field on D and keeping an opponent under 100 yards rushing then I will say they are playing well on D. I have not looked to see what the top 10 D stats are I just do it based on my belief of one indicator of a great D.

Number one thing I look for is stopping the run to the point the other team gives up trying to run. I am sure people will say I am being unrealistic and negative and maybe they are right.

Will all of that said, no one would be happier than me to see the light come on. I believe it is possible just not sure it will happen. Time will tell just like I said in the off season. We had people on here thinking Bama would win the national championship this year and they had never played a game under CKD.

Coach, is #4 without a doubt the best QB you have on this roster. You play him because he gives Bama the best chance to win?

Kalen. Josey, without a doubt #4 is our best QB
Josey, Thanks for clearing that for us.

or

Kalen, Josey , #4 is not the best QB we have but he owns the room at this time. If we make a change, it's possible we lose many players on this team.
Josey, Thanks and Happy Birthday.

Man I just hope this team locks in. I think one of Saban's best coaching jobs was in 2014 when the team went through similar problems this team is going through. Lost at Ole Miss and survived at Arkansas. If I'm not mistaken, a lot of that team was fairly young but they had a team meeting because they weren't satisfied that they weren't playing to the standard. Next game they beat Texas A&M 59-0 and took control. Saban and the staff did a good job for game prep, but it was ultimately up to the players to hold themselves accountable. Just really haven't seen any of that yet.

Feel like this team should reflect on teams like that and understand what's a stake if they begin playing to their potential.
