Hey, after three straight three-point victories over the Weebles, this is a blow-out.

For a bunch of guys who have been kicked on all over the league for several years, I just do not understand where they think they can jump to a lead and the other team will cave because 'we are Alabama' or the players think they can cruise because they are so darn talented.
This second half sleepwalking is beyond a one-, or two-,or three game letdown now. And we cannot use the 'mentally tired' excuse since we had the off week.
Good and great teams learn lessons without having to pay the consequence of losing a game. I am not sure this team is able to learn without penalty. Saban still has some work to do on the six-inch muscle - the one between the ears.
That NT spot is supposed to get 2-3 yards in the backfield. That, they continued to do.
I don't disagree we lack getting a lot of pressure on the QB...falls on the ends.
Wife, who is an MD, saw them do the wobble test on Cody and she said he is done. The wobble test is where they lift the leg, grab the ankle, and move the knee side to side. Way too loose.
Back a couple of pages...exactly what I saw that caused concern.
I think for the last ten quarters we have played about like I thought we would this season, which is why I picked us to go 8-4. But, you know, we could still go 12-0.
You can call it whatever you want, but the fact remains that we won. They ran out of time, we didn't play anything near good in the second half, but remember that it is 4 quarters and not just the last 2. You can meltdown if you want, but I for one, am thrilled that we won and am not going to apologize for it.
No joke. They were a couple plays away from coming into this game with just a loss. Lot of folks dissed on them before the game.
I knew physically they had a few players who would match up well.
Btw, Eli just alluded to how Cody's injury took some "oomp" out of this team.
Boy, I'm loving the play Bama is getting from Woodall. ;tr
Defense withstood the test when it counted. Not so sure if we would have come out on the positive end of that in years past. Good to see the defense really bow up on 4th down like that.

Optimus, that 3-3 record is deceiving. Ole Miss could very well have come into this game at 5-1 or 6-0. Even Coach Saban has been reiterating this. He just said that he knew the game was gonna be like this and he had great respect for the Rebs.

I am not trying to get into a fight about us winning a game here, but just ask the gators if they would like our outcome as opposed to the one they got with this same team. A few plays that bounce Ole Miss way and they are easily 5-1 and probably ranked in the top 15 or atleast 20 coming into this game. This was a hard fought game and we came out on top. After all they had time to beat us and we brought pressure causing a bad pass on 4th down. They didn't convert and we won.

We play good some and bad some. I sort of expected that - which is why the full ten quarters reflect my preseason expectations.
For so many years now we have had players in position after position to make a key play in a close game only to see the player fail. No always, but our record of close losses indicates far too often.
I really cringed when I saw Nick Walker, who up to that very key moment had performed wonderfully, in a position to make a key, and tough, catch to get a critical first down drop a beautifully thrown ball.
No dinging on Walker so much as just had a flashback to all the dropped balls and times we missed a tackle on third down when we needed a stop.
Saban, per his comments to the CBS cutie coming out of halftime, said the right things to our players. They did not listen or are just not good enough to finish with a flourish.
Anyhoo. Great to be 7-0. 8-0 would be quality cigar worthy - damn what my wife says. Might have to hit on one of my Hispanic sources this week and finagle a true Cuban Cohiba to have on hand just in case. Just don't anyone tell the Feds. (Gotta spend my wealth on what I want before The Big O starts to 'spread it around' for me. )

I think we were the closest on score predictions. We both had bama 24-21. Look at it this way, we beat them by more points than we did the past 3 years. It may only be 1 point difference, but hey thats improvement .
