The whole program needs an enema with this lack of discipline brought back to the forefront. Their image is not far behind Miami Hurricons

To be fair, having a discipline situation for a player fighting or something along those lines is a matter I don't have a problem with a coach handling it internally.
BUT, let's compare apples to apples here. Fighting, etc., has nothing to do with eligibility. I honestly don't feel comparing how Bowden has handled his players in the past to this situation is a fair comparison.
These players are ineligible. That's why they are suspended. Bowden will work with their compliance department on this and we'll see the suspensions carried out.
They are basing the 4 games on what teams have done in the past and what the NCAA has accepted in the past. It is being handled much like our compliance department did with the textbook situation.

I have to agree with an opinion I read by a Sporting News writer that, in a nutshell, what FSU needs is not so much discipline as leadership.
When 20-something members of your team get caught as part of a widespread academic dishonesty scandal, to me that speaks to something more than a 24-hr cold, it points to a cancer hidden deep within the body. There's more at stake for them than those individual players, and it will require a lot more than a 4-game-suspension band-aid to restore health to the program.

I understand what you are saying Laura and by no means disagree with the context of it.
I see it a little differently than some of the opinions voiced here. It seems that a lot are pointing to Bowden while I don't see it that way. I see the academic problems falling under Mark Meleney's purview (Director of Athletic Academic Support.)
He's in the same role as Jon Devers (Asst. AD- Student Services). It's Devers' role to monitor and put systems in place to monitor those activities at Alabama. Not Saban's.
Neither should it be Bowden's...

But football gets the most media attention and scrutiny, so Bowden will get the bulk of the blame (or at least will be portrayed as such).
