🏈 Fournette has eye on five trips

Saban wants this kid? Yeah, he does. The Shelby County and Atlanta-area Alumni Associations were at BDS for a stadium tour when Fournette was there on an unofficial. We weren't allowed in the stadium (stands) when he and Coach Saban were out there. We didn't get to go in the locker room because Fournette was in there. He was getting the red carpet tour. I remember reading about him before the tour. We were in the top three before, and then after that we were tied with LSWho? for his lead.

We want him here, too! What a three-headed monster we'll have with Henry, Scarborough, and Fournette!

Shades of the recruitment of Julio there: "We're going to win championships with or without you."

The exact thought that popped into my head, Im thinking maybe this is a usual recruitment pitch to big time recruits. Julio said that bluntness was one of the things that sold him on Coach Saban.

I hope we get the kid. He looks like a stud and his body is ready for SEC football like Yeldon and Todd Gurley from Georgia. I like the fact that the coaches aren't straight oodling this kid, but telling him we want his talents, but we obviously have enough without you, putting him in the decision to make sure he wants to be a football player at Alabama.

When a coach can tell a recruit "I don't need you, but I want you." you know you have a legendary recruiter. We may or may not land the guy, but it's like Saban's getting his pick of the litter.

The recruiting approach by UA versus the one by LSU couldn't be more stark in contrast. Both really have their upside—it just depends on what he's looking for.

With LSU they've lost three running backs since last season—two to the draft and one is anticipated to be lost due to legal issues. It was a legitimate five-headed monster last year with Blue getting the fewest carries with 40. He returns, along with Hilliard, for the 2013 season. Copeland returns but he's more of a fullback in my eyes.

So, with LSU, if they want to "advertise" he's going to be the "big man on campus" with a lot of carries early and often it's there.

(I've also heard there's a relationship {Godfather?} with their RB coach.)

At Bama, it's not a situation where he's going to be that BMOC. However, with the lack of longevity in the NFL for the running back position that can be used as a plus. We can offer him the chance of being a 1st rounder with evidence to prove the case. Coupled with that is the ability to sell "less carries in college means healthier body in the NFL."

I suspect he's LSU bound. No matter where he lands he looks like he's going to be a fun player to watch.
