🏈 Four-star safety Laurence 'Hootie' Jones de-commits from Alabama

I will say the de commitments are pretty concerning and while we pulled in two juco players I think that's 4 or 5 big time recruits that passed on us in a week... And Hampton was one I saw a lot of ppl convinced was coming to bama.

I don't feel as if there is any reason to freak out over this. I am more interested in wondering what about his official didn't live up to the billing or his thoughts? We have one of the best programs in the country, amazing facilities, great academics, beautiful co-eds. What else could he be talking about? Money? Especially when he liked it enought to freaking commit. I was never recruited for football, only baseball, but I will never understand what these kids expect or what goes through their brains when a comment is made like he made about it not living up. Apparently it has been good enough for all these other big time recruits more heralded than he is, it was enough to win multiple national chamo=pionships and countless other games, it was good enough to bring countless awards to other superstars that played for us. I just hope we get Marlon Humphrey and I'll be completely at ease. I would still love Fournette as well and I would be ecstatic about this class.

How different is this year compared to any other?

Last year we had kids who I was convinced were going to end up in Tuscaloosa and their playing ball in Oxford.

Ole Miss is going to end up pissing too many people off at other schools and the NCAA will end up sending them more than just a letter of warning.

Terry, you've got lots more information than I'll ever have, but I'm thinking the same thing. In their class last year, they had several five stars and, if I'm not mistaken (I know it's hard to believe but it has happened), they had zero, zilch, nada, NO four stars. If the product they're selling is that enticing to the five stars, why not to the four? Makes a fan wonder.

Let your mind wander no further...bullshit afront in Oxford.
