The Class of 2021 hasn't signed on the dotted line quite yet, but Alabama coach Nick Saban already has eyes on the Class of 2022. Robert Woodyard, a four-star linebacker in next year's recruiting cycle, committed to the Crimson Tide on Thursday over several SEC teams including Auburn, Georgia and Kentucky.

Woodyard is a 6-foot-1, 210-pound linebacker out of Williamson High School in Mobile, Alabama. He is the No. 58 overall player and the second-ranked inside linebacker, according to 247Sports. Williamson coach Dedrick Sumpter provided a scouting report on the newest Crimson Tide pledge.

"This is an elite player," Sumpter told 247Sports. "I'm talking about this guy's size, he's cerebral, he's intelligent ... man, there's so many adjectives I could say. He's a good kid. His ceiling is so high because he's a basketball player, too. He was third-team all-state in that. You're talking about a guy that's 6-2, 220 with that kind of skillset. He fits the mold. He is a typical Alabama linebacker."

Woodyard, who is the No. 5 overall player in the State of Alabama, joins weak-side defensive end Jeremiah Alexander in Alabama's 2022 recruiting class. Alexander, a 6-foot-2, 235-pounder from Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama, is the No. 11 overall prospect and the top-ranked player in Alabama in the Class of 2022.
