Rashad Johnson will be doing more than just sideline reporting for Alabama this fall.
The former Crimson Tide star safety, who was recently hired as the sideline reporter for Alabama's gameday radio team, will also be part of the Tide football staff.
Johnson is joining the Alabama staff in an off-field role, AL.com has learned.
The 32-year old Sullingent, Alabama native retired from football in January after almost a decade in the NFL.
A first-team All-SEC selection for the Tide in 2007 and 2008, Johnson was a third-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2009 and played seven seasons for the Cardinals and then one for the Tennessee Titans in 2016.
He had 15 career NFL interceptions, including five in 2015 and four in 2014 along with 92 tackles.
