I thought I would post some interesting stats/rankings for us all to discuss and debate relative to the Iron Bowl, but with UF data thrown in as well.

I am changing the presentation from my original post. Let's look at it this way:

Our Defense rankings against their offense
Total - Auburn Offense-16 (UF-15) - Bama Defense - 1(!!)
Rushing - Auburn Offense -11 (UF-9) - Bama Defense - 2 (!)
Pass - Auburn Offense-54 (UF-65) - Bama Defense - 5
Scoring - Auburn Offense-15 (UF-10) - Bama Defense - 2(!)
Now check this out:
Turnover Ratio - Bama-5, Auburn-53 (UF-17) - HUGE edge to Bama here as well.

Now their defense against our offense:
Total - Auburn Defense-56 (UF-2) - Bama Offense - 30
Rushing - Auburn Defense-88(!!) (UF-7) - Bama Offense - 10
Passing - Auburn Defense-24 (UF-1) - Bama Offense - 89
Scoring - Auburn Defense-78(!!) (UF-1) - Bama Offense - 23
Now check this one out:
Time of Possession - Bama-7, Auburn-99 (UF-23) - HUGE edge to Bama

How about Sagarin Ratings
Sagarin Power Rating - Bama-1(!!), Auburn-32 (UF-2)
Sagarin vs. Top 30 - Bama 4-0 (wins - #9 VaTech, #13 LSU, #23 Arkansas, #24 Ole Miss), Auburn 1-2 (win - #24 Oe Miss, Losses - #13 LSU, #23 Arkansas), (UF 2-0 - wins #13 LSU, #23 Arkansas)

Just some interesting stats. When you look at their strengths and our strengths vs. their weaknesses vs. our weaknesses. Th only thing Auburn has an edge in for all of that is their pass defense against our pass offense. And even with that, I think.... well, I'll wait to hear what y'all think.

Cobra, that is good stuff. What about red zone offense and defense rankings and numbers. Considering some of the struggles that we have faced in that area I would like to see those numbers with AU and UF.

Ask and you shall receive:

Red Zone
AU offense - #6 (35 trips, 33 scores; 25 TDs, 8 FGs) vs. Bama Defense - tied for #2 (19 trips, 13 scores; 7 TDs, 6 FGs)
Bama Offense - #47 (45 trips, 38 scores; 19 TDS, 19 FGs) vs. Au Defense - #120(!!) (39 trips, 37 scores; 27 TDs, 10 FGs)

The offensive rankings really skew things here; we are ranked 47 but with about one more red zone trip per game than Auburn. Also, their red zone defense is abysmal. If we keep our heads and play our game, our red zone success stats should improve.
