| CURRENT EVENTS Following Provorov's stance on Flyer's "Pride Night," NY Rangers "ditch LBGTQ+ jerseys."

The team said, “This is what we are wearing during warmups to celebrate/support gay pride.” He said “I don’t want to wear that jersey.” He didn’t want to support gay pride. Since he was not wearing the official team jersey during the warmup, he was allowed to not participate in the warmup as a single player in a different jersey would have been quickly noticed. However, people notice when players are absent without notice (due to injury, illness, legal issues, family issues, etc).

Can a team require a player or staff member to demonstrate support of a cause? Can a team require a player or staff member to wear a Trump button/patch? A Biden button/patch? Many NFL and NBA players were chastised when they wouldn’t kneel during the national anthem to support what others believed. IMO, professional and college teams need to get out of the business of social evangelism to pander to special interest groups. The majority shouldn’t have to bow to the minority.
I think they should get rid of all special nights for causes, Pride, Law enforcement appreciation, all of them

Yes, and no. Law enforcement protects everybody, not some of them. Same with the military. There is no special community that law enforcement and the military isolates.
Just because you supposedly protect me doesn't mean I have to turn a blind eye to everything I don't support about you. The military and the police are both guilty of things many people would not want to be required to show support for.

There is no policy by law enforcement or the military that says screw the little guy. Yes, there are bad police officers and military just as there are bad bankers, airline pilots and doctors. The bad don’t represent the group. Don’t assign the bad behavior of one to the entire group. Heck, I know some nice Auburn people.

Honestly, the police are the enemy of the public at this point. And the military is less a defender than an aggressor. Yes there are good cops and good military members, but the overall force is anti-freedom. If you don't think so then you aren't paying attention.

I was a cop for 4 years and I can assure you there’s more bad cops than good, that’s indisputable.

What's to say it's not society that is the problem? You talk about paying attention, but has society not gone down hill in a lot of respects? Sex trafficking, murder, abuse of multiple acts, rape, assault, theft. The list goes on with how brazen society has gotten. I'm not saying there aren't bad cops, but to say they are the enemy of society doesn't make much sense. Just because Liberal and Socialist politicians want to ban them and have their followers doesn't mean people like me have a problem with them. Those same politicians are ok with a child having gender reconstructive surgery as well, so I'm not putting too much thought into how much their opinions matter when it comes to law enforcement.

Analogous to this is how much backlash there was to NFL players refusing to outwardly show their support of Pentagon funded, pre-game national anthems. The Right hated the NFL players who refused to participate in this show of support for a cultural norm. Now the Right justifiably hates it when the Left returns the favor. I can't help but remember this genius Aids ribbon Seinfeld bit:

I believe the backlash was to players refusing to support the national anthem - with or without a flyover or any other involvement of the military. Flyovers don't make sense for basketball games or football games in domed stadiums.

Sorry, I don't remember any of the LGBT's ARMY, NAVY, AF, MARINES fighting/dying in wars to ensure America's level of freedom. Don't see the analogous comparison.

Easy to not see it when you ignore their whole basis for the comment and twist it into what you believe is right. The military is not and should not be above protest by those who may not agree with their actions. So saying it is OK to protest one thing but not another is wrong.
