šŸˆ šŸ”„ Hot Seat 2025 / Coaching Carousel:

LSU finally lands on Acceptance...

It's mentioned in this thread. I've seen it mentioned around different places the last week or so.

I understand the majority of contracts with a coach have a mitigation clause, in writing, within the contract so they can 'negotiate' the final dollar amounts. In another 'genius' contract move it was not included in Kelly's.

It sort of makes the contract a signing bonus. The coach is going to get his money one way or another: failure or successful.

Last night I received a text from the guy I've told ya'll about in Florida that runs one of the biggest sites for the Gators. He's saying they had Kiff "in the bag" as recently as two weeks ago. But, they've had a huge stumbling block.

One Scott Stricklin.

I'm trying to figure out when you owe a coach $54 million dollars.. Then refused to pay him... How you can legally hire another coach ... LSU was going to eventually lose that case..Today LSU basically admitted it...So I guess LSU will pay him now..
Brian Kelly will probably end up like Jimbo Fisher and not coach again, because people probably don't want him..

They could say that Kelly walked away from the job and wasn’t fired. It’s a weak argument.

I saw today that LSU has agreed to pay Kelly under the condition that he seek another coaching role that would offset what LSU owes. He must document his efforts including copies of correspondence.

Stunning update emerges on Brian Kelly standoff, buyout at LSU

IMO, ole Miss will announce a long term deal with CLK and he stays in Oxford. No source, just a gut feeling. I also think someone would have leaked info if he was going to LSU or UF.

These coaching contracts have gotten to be insane.

Mizzou should have called his bluff... Drinkwitz wanted one of the other big jobs, but it was becoming clear that he was unlikely to land any of them. Perianally, I think he'd do decently well at Florida, but several in power there don't care for his act (which I totally get... I wouldn't want him at my school either). In the end, Mizzou overpays and has to hope like hell Drinkwitz can take the next step in what is a brutal conference.

We'll be fine. Lmao.
One could argue the WR corps needs more work on their fundamentals, sure. When it comes to the boxes coach needs to have checked? He's got all of 'em; the right attitude, great leadership on the team, etc.
Alabama's current staff includes analysts Torrey Gill, who works with the receivers, and Tyler Hughes, who was the NE Patriots' WRs coach in 2024:
What you can not do is replace is the four years of all these guys on offense working together. Continuity.

(It is something to behold seeing the interest in different members of the coaching staff who really haven't won anything yet.)

This!!! I know this was not the intent of your post but wanted to highlight that you can use this as conext for almost any post I make during the CKD era so far. Hope that changes over the next few weeks.

What's even more confusing about this post is DeBoer HAS won championships. Guys like Shepard, who I had in mind when I made the post, have not. He was on staff at UW so there is a PAC title there.
