Looking at some of the mentioned hires in the article several posts up, I see some names that may be interesting and some not so much.

Silverfield at Memphis is going to get a job at some point but I just do not believe it will be at Auburn, Florida or LSU. He has done a very good job at Memphis with limited NIL and not the true, quality athletes that he would have with the big boys.

Durkin is the current DC at Auburn, so he may be the choice because there are so many openings in college football right now and more will follow as the season closes or is finished. Auburn is a dumpster fire. The folks that run the program probably wish they had kept Malzhan now but hindsight is 20/20. Two bad hires in a row and the program IMO is no longer relevant. Yes, I know we go there in a few weeks.

Dillingham is definitely an up and comer. He has done a good job in the desert at ASU. He also will land a "big" job at some point in time, maybe sooner than later. I do look for him to have some attractive offers as things progress. He would be someone, not named Kiffin that I would look at hard.

Sumrall at Tulane is interesting. He was a head coach at Troy and is an Alabama native. He knows the state and has developed relationships with high school coaches from his time at Troy. Tulane is a good program but is it good because of him or the previous head coach?

Croom came in unprepared and more than likely assumed because he had played for Coach Bryant and had known Coach Moore for so long that he had the job in the bag over someone like Mike Shula because of these connections and experience in the NFL. It blew up in his face.

Alabama didn’t hire Sylvester Croom largely because they felt like the program was in such a horrible state with all of the NCAA investigations and sanctions,” Davis said. “They weren’t sure anybody could get through that and they felt like it wasn’t going to be the coach they hired then. It was going to be the next one. As it turned out, the next one after that was Nick Saban. Right or wrong, you can criticize that.
“I didn’t agree with the decision. I actually thought they should have hired Sylvester Croom when they hired Mike Shula. But that was one of the reasons. Sylvester had a closer tie to the university than Shula did. Shula played there. He didn’t have the same type of relationships personally there. They didn’t want to jeopardize that by not hiring him.”
Reece Davis in On3.. i've been looking most of the day, but I did run up on that... I'm not really arguing with what's being put out by some of the members and staff here.. I just heard a quote from Mal Moore that Alabama was not ready for him.. now maybe it has something to do with the above and not race..

Based on fan reactions this morning there are four or five I could name.

In my book it starts with Gundy at Okie State. He did himself no favors starting this past week bitching about the lack of NIL money. Considering how long he's been there they shouldn't have had their butts kicked as badly as they did last night.

Is someone SERIOUSLY fucking lobbying for the Caddy to return to Opelika as head coach? Holy shit! I mean...fine by me. I not only HOPE it happens, but hope they lock him down with a lifetime contract....but...from their perspective.....that's fucking laughable at best :ROFLMAO:

Something weird happened there and I can't put my finger on the memory switch. It's come up but that was with a guy in the AHSAA making a joke.
