🏈 🔥 Hot Seat 2025 / Coaching Carousel:

I wish Shula would have had to have faced us when Saban was at the helm. He got lucky and caught us right after the Saban era ended. I just wanted him to see the machine up close one time. I hate that our last two games against USCjr (with him as their OC) were moral victories for him

The fact is Croom got fucked... Shula got lucky..Croom should've got the nod... but I know history might not have been the same..
So. Give the job to a guy that turned Bama in to the NCAA because he didn't like the margins on a book. Yeah. He screwed himself.

So. Give the guy the job who, literally, didn't have a plan when asked what he was going to do. He screwed himself.

The only thing I recall is Mal Moore said "Alabama wasn't ready for him".. and the media picked that up and ran with it....but we were ready for Mike Shula?...Croom was a far more seasoned coach than Don Shula's son was... Now what ever Croom did to get even, is not as widely known...

Not widely known nor even mattered. Tried to make it racial.
Croom was great ....hung with Bear... always thought...he would be big time....
But...Mississippi anywhere wasnt right at the time for him...

I'm really surprised that Joey Maguire of Texas Tech is not getting more buzz... because he is proven all you have to do is go to the portal and build a team that fits his system... kind of Like Kiffin..

Agree, especially the last part. But at UA, he was in over his head (which was to be expected), his problem was he didn't handle it well.
I agree. I think he wasn’t ready and probably knew he wasn’t. The biggest problem was that he refused to change.

That and I think we had a ton of boosters who thought they were in control. Hopefully Saban got that straight and that won’t be a problem for CKD.

This season has been a bigger killing field for head coaches than the last several years combined. I still look back in amazement at all the firings that happened in 2020, given the pandemic and all. But....this season dwarfs 2020 with all the firings
