🏈 Fall Scrimmage #2: Reports/Observations

Imagine a pass that was like 2 inches above cyrus's pointer fingers. Just a damn good pass, nothing else can be said. I've seen some of our best corners in history have that perfect pass caught on them. And their not 5 '10".
Same here. Tebow in the '08 SECCG comes to mind. He was putting the ball where only his receivers could get it, despite blanket coverage. All damn night.

Seriously, is there not a way for Cornwell to rehabilitate himself, or is this just the countdown to transfer to another school? I mean, heck which among us has not gotten hammered in our youth and done some really stupid stuff? Without a guiding hand on our shoulders showing us the way to get beyond drunken debauchery and stupid behavior; we would all be behind the counter at Mickey D's asking 'fries with that?"

Even more reason to think he ends up being a star for someone like Bobby Petrino or Jimbo.

Correct, Cyrus of last year/and this year is rarely out of position, he fights genetics. Mel helped him find other ways to get the edge. He had one ball caught like that on him all day. I have plenty of faith in him.

He's been known to blow an assignment. But the only part of the play that is important is whether or not Cyrus turned his head around. It has always been a problem for him.

No one ever mentions the throw on the gimmick play just before half in the OSU playoff game. That turned everything around. Outstanding coverage.

He has greatly improved. I was a Cyrus hater in 2013 and I noticed the changes he made during the 2014 season. He is a solid corner now. Hopefully we have 2 more step up in 2015.

I have always been a big Cyrus fan. I was sorely disappointed when he had trouble returning kicks before. I thought he was gonna be the answer.

Actually, I always thought he was better suited for offense but wtf do I know.

Outside of Auburn that was the luckiest effin Touchdown...... SMH great coverage, great throw, and Im guessing somebody at Buffalo Wild Wings extended the sideline about a half a inch

I felt the same way when he started at KR/PR. Cause he really is special on his returns. That fumble at LSU was the last straw.

I was actually really disappointed they started him at WR. He was an elite CB in high school. I thought it was pretty clear his future would be there, but maybe they gave him a choice? Had they started him at CB and left him there, I think he would have been a year ahead of schedule... Meaning his soph season would have looked like last year, instead of that miserable season he had getting picked on. It was hard to be mad at him considering he was playing WR the year before then asked to start at CB.

I have a really hard time believing that a guy that could only see the field as the backup punter a year ago is going to be our starting qb. Morris is the least talented qb on our roster. If its down to him and Bateman(which I personally doubt) give me Bateman all day. He has impressed at every Aday since he's been here and he has wheels.

He does know the offense quite well. But like it's been said he isn't a world beater by any means. Good arm, solid smarts, not that fast lol. Bateman is definitely the athlete. We will see how it pans out over the next two weeks. Maybe more seperation will occur. Also I will say Barnett is a great talent.

Btw... Those of you holding out hope for Barnett can hang it up. Saban wouldn't give the keys to a true freshman even if he played like Peyton Manning.

Those from Woolly know I'm a big fan of the idea of Coker. I can't remember a time when we've bad a guy with his arm talent. He played well and made zero mistakes every time he saw the field in a game last season. Whether people here want to admit it or not he was one bad drive away from taking over in the iron bowl last year.
