šŸˆ Fall Camp, 2025: News, notes, observations : 'Meat Church' cooks BBQ for the Tide.

@Brandon Van de Graaff what's the humidity like today? Mid 90's afternoon for the scrimmage...

Brutal. And pretty much zero wind/breeze at this point to help. We have about a dozen or so people about to arrive for a pool party and I’m already about to take my 2nd shower of the day because I’ve been going in and out all morning getting things ready… food, pool, etc.

I wonder if they'll move some of the practices to the afternoons for the next two weeks: acclimation, ya know? It's a relatively easy (weather) schedule except for Tallahassee. I've not heard anything along those lines, you?

So, are you saying that ā€œbaiting people ā€œ is strenuous work ā€œ lol?
Jk

That will be tough because everyone’s academic schedule has afternoon classes. That’s one of the impacts from DeBoer’s shift of afternoon practice to morning practice.

They start Wednesday which would allow at least four open days next week (assuming few have Friday classes.)

I don't know. I'd expect he will stick with am practices and the routine, but I'm sure it has at least been considered by someone inside the building.

How do you count to four?

Sunday - rest day after scrimmage
Monday - no practice according to DeBoer
Tuesday - possible pm practice 1
Wednesday - start of MWF classes
Thursday - start of TTh classes
Friday - some will have no Friday classes, but freshmen and sophomores probably will

Supposedly more good progress overall and no injuries... can't ask for much more than that.

Maybe spoke too soon here. A lot of Twitter chatter tonight that Jam Miller injured his collarbone and will miss some time. There was word by some that he’d been dinged in the scrimmage but when DeBoer didn’t mention any significant injuries, I assumed it was nothing major.

How do I count to four? Two hands. One for the math, the other to flip someone off. šŸ™ƒ

When I said that who knew there was no practice Monday? After the first scrimmage they took Sunday off, then practiced Monday.

Monday and Tuesday = 2
Between Weds and Saturday = another two.

(If I could avoid FR classes ... I'm thinking they can do with the support groups they have in place especially given travel.)

I'm just getting into notes sent yesterday and early this morning. The last (first I opened, I guess I need to go in reverse order here) said dislocated and hopefully back after the bye week.

Let's hope and pray it's just a dislocation. A broken collarbone on a running back? That's normally a season ending injury. Dislocations? I've seen guys miss a month and a half and seen them miss six months.

I'm confident in saying this after reading that first text...(it was the length of a Spurgeon sermon and just as dry.)

Last year the Tide finished 10th in scoring defense, nationally, allowing just over 17 a game. They are better this season. Red zone, goalline, and the 3rd and shorts ... the defense had their say yesterday. When the offense were within 10 of a TD...sputter, sputter, cough, die.

I'd say it's fair to label yesterday as a "bent but didn't break day." In good on good work I've surmised it's about four TD's and a FG scored by the offense.

That, Jam's injury, and the false start penalties ... the three "lowlights" of yesterday.

I haven't seen it mentioned here...if so, I missed the comment. James Smith has an ankle injury.

Sorta funny thinking about @ 150 yards passing; it's a 'meh' reaction until you think ... 14/15 is what's reported so that's 10 per attempt. Perspective: Anything about 7.2 in the league is considered 'plus' in their QBR metrics.
