šŸ€ Extend Oats immediately

Shelved, not closed. It’s still part of the overall (master) campus plan and it gets brought up in meetings almost monthly from what I’m told by someone who attends.
I think the big issue is where to put it. It will need to be multi-purpose which means bigger footprint. It would be nice to keep the majority of athletic facilities somewhat near each other and what do you do with Coleman during and after construction?

Exactly! You definitely don’t want to demo Coleman and displace our teams with home games played at Legacy Arena.

The plan is to keep Coleman for events, graduations, etc. As of now, there is an area near the softball complex that has been tabbed and there's also been discussion of moving the intramural fields and using that land. Obviously, all of this could change, but it's still on the table.

If you wanted to keep it in the core athletics area, bend 2nd Avenue to the east just as it transits the tracks, such that it runs through one-third to one-half of the Law School parking lot. Then, past Coliseum Circle, ben it back. Build the facility in the Coliseum parking lot and the space gained by relocating 2nd Avenue.

Parking would be a pain during construction. Then, demolish Coleman and make it parking.

If they're willing to move it out, then the intramural fields location makes sense.
