🏈 Every one is talking QB

With experience aside, we look solid. Bo and Harris are 1-2, and will be strong. Emmons and Jacobs are 3-4, but receiving rave reviews for their ability in practice and scrimmages. All four will most likely play. So we are stacked again at the position.

Bo seems dinged up more often than not. D.Harris is being pushed by the younger guys, but he looked much improved during the ADay game IMO.

Emmons could be really special. He ran great routes as a WR in hs, (great hands as well) and he punishes LB's and DB's in the run game. He can stop on a dime, and has a lot of wiggle for a kid his size. I "heard" he ran a 4.4 in camp recently. I could see Kiffin using him the way he did Drake. If Kiffin sticks around the sky is the limit for Emmons IMO. I'll post a video of him running drills in a minute. Great feet, and he naturally runs with his feet a good distance apart which is something you really can't teach, or at least it's hard to.

Unless Najee is the next Adrian Peterson like people are claiming I could see Emmons being the man for a few years.

Jacobs has been a pleasant surprise. A lot of glowing reports on him during camp.

Overall the lack of experience is going to hurt no matter how talented they are as a unit. I recall an uber talented freshman Yeldon having a problem with fumbles. I recall a freshman Mark Ingram reading a zone block wrong in the SECCG in 08 that cost Bama a TD. I recall seeing Henry struggle to pick up his blocks in the passing game as a freshman. Etc., etc., there are going to be growing pains, but yeah, the talent is there.

Really looking forward to seeing if Bo can punish a defense the way Henry did, and stay healthy.

It'll be a backfield like we haven't seen before, in terms of splitting carries. 2012 would probably be the closest but that was just two backs splitting carries. I think we will see three, maybe even four, backs in the rotation. Bo will get the biggest share, and I cant wait till he doesnt miss a game so yall can STFU about the "glass hulk" stuff, and then Harris and either BJ or Jacobs. I like Jacobs for his versatility as a receiver but Emmons has been getting rave reviews.

Rely? Doubling down now, are ya?
The offense always relies on the QB. Like I've been saying I think so many people took Coker for granted. Look at how weak our team looked with Bateman against Ole Miss. We switched QBs, and our team came to life, and looked like a force to be wreckoned with.
The energy of the offense and the whole team runs through the QB position.
Having Henry saved our asses last year, so having a good back will certainly help, but unfortunately I don't think the glass hulk will hold up, and idk if we have any star backs behind him unless it's one of the freshmen.

I really don't agree. AJ in 2011? McElroy in 2009?I hate to break it to you but we sure didn't rely on either of them! Sims in 2014? If we relied on him alone we wouldn't have made it to the CFB. And then even according to you we didn't RELY on Coker - we RELIED on Henry!

My point is that.... well.... You're wrong. Despite relatively weak QBs we have won two NCs and competed for one in 2014. I won't say Coker was weak - he showed grit. But we didn't RELY on him either. We will be fine at RB. I admit that the whole football exchange lacks experience - from the center to the QB to the RB. But I have faith in the talent and the coaching and we will be FINE!! Roll tide!!!

Emmons will be no.1 back by seasons end.

It's just as easy to say he's going to get quality playing time this season. If any Bama fan has seen this back, even during his All-Star week, he is exciting and dangerous. Yeldon got on the field as early and often as any TF I can remember around here. Emmons has had that look for a while.

Ingram was in the regular rotation the first game of his career.

'Glass Hulk'..well played. Hope you're wrong but history, and fall camp, says you may not be.

One of my best friends broke his leg slamming into our left fielder before the first game of my sophomore year. (gruesome) Then, he broke his arm during basketball season our junior year. Then, in the first game of the season in our junior baseball season, he broke his arm again (again, really gruesome - with lots of profanity which was interesting). He had all sorts of tests and almost gave up sports altogether. Doctors checked out fine, giving him a clean bill of health. Just freak stuff. He was extremely unlucky.

Senior year he starred in the state tourney in basketball and was a great player all year in baseball. No injuries.

So, I suppose we'll have more anecdotal evidence this season if Bo gets injured. We still won't know for sure if he's simply unlucky or frail, but it sure will be suspicious if he does go down again. I hope he makes it all the way through.
