šŸˆ ESPN reports on Ohio State--a story that hasn't gone quietly in the good night.

More hearsay and who really knows exactly what is going on. I know this: Everyone involved could be pathological liars, but that doesn't exonerate what Meyer's is being accused of. Enabling or permitting liars on his staff to stay in business by lying himself. There is plenty of room for blame. I know that Urban's excuse at media days of "not being prepared" is beyond ridiculous and is insulting to think that's a legitimate excuse or that's what really happened. That's the kind of juvenile stuff I don't allow my grandkids to get away with. He was arrogantly handling the situation because he couldn't figure out how to keep the guilty implications, that he now possesses, off his back, period.

In the end that may not matter as far as his job is concerned, but I think it will keep the shine off of Urban's reputation for the rest of his career. Knowing something about his emotional makeup from the book he wrote and how hard he is on himself, that might be punishment enough.

How much faith do you really put in what he wrote about himself in his book? I've not read it. I can't say I want to. I do know that he certainly left an impression on me with the way he left Florida and how Florida was when he quit.

He is a fraud ........ no other way to put it.

You got it. Someone wrote an article I think for USA Today yesterday. Basic point was do what I say, not what I do. If Urban was true to his word, he'd quit and give his money back to Ohio State, the boosters, and everyone else paying his contract. But he has an out, he reportedly told someone...like that's enough. They fired Zach when it leaked - speaks volumes...

I think that article was by Christine Brennan.

Some of it dealt with his emotional imbalances. Something his wife, who is in the mental health field, tried to tell him for years. Which explains the meltdown after the 2009 Bama game. I do believe he's a micromanager at heart and just listening to some of his insecurities, I'm buying the perfectionist that motivates him in his coaching. Probably for no other reason than none of it is that flattering to talk about.

I'm sure his past behaviors aren't anythinig he considers "flattering to talk about" which is why he pathologically lies about said behaviors.

In Brennan's article she mentioned practicing what you're preaching. We've got a decade of seeing and hearing "do what I say" not "do what I'm doing." I have a real difficult time simply categorizing this as "imbalance." I can easily see the desire to be a perfectionist lead to an obsessive behavior, not a pathological one.
