🏈 ESPN ditches Coaches Film Room, opts for MNF Film Room instead for CFP Championship

Terrible option on a big screen TV
Picture quality or what?

Picture quality. Even with my internet (500Mbit) it is crap compared to the cable channel on my large 4K tv.. Now, I might use it for the audio this game instead of trying to stream from my normal stream as both the ones I normally stream audio from weren't working right last game and I had to listen to the idiots on TV.

It depends on your internet. Our cable company (who we get internet from) has certain times when it will slow down and even Netflix would look like crap and at other times its perfect. If you have suspect internet, watching a game on ESPN3 would look like watching it on an old school dial up internet Real Player video.
Thankfully (knock on wood) I've never had that issue. Recently, a friend said he'd tried YouTubeTV and was disappointed in its streaming quality. For the hell of it I signed up for one of their five day free trials and didn't have any issues. Hell, even with Chromecast still had good results.

ESPN3 is on the internet. Dish and most cable companies give you free access to ESPN3, not sure about Direct.
I just wasn't thinking about what all it entailed, Josh. I know m neighbors have Direct, but also have their 'net access through AT&T with one of their bundles. It just didn't dawn on me someone wouldn't.

BTW, I saw something a month or so ago that Dish had just launched their last satellite. It's either going away in a few years or we're not going to see satellite TV, period. I suspect it's the latter.

I wouldn't be shocked if its all Internet in the next 10 years. I WAS super pissed at Dish because of the HBO debacle but now (after reading up on it) I realize it's an ATT thing and it really pisses me off. They're clearly trying to create a monopoly.

Welp, I'll have no TV in Siberia... This summer I'm gonna see if I can get OTA going, but based on researched, I'm not gonna be able to get a signal. But I have to try at least!

I got YoutubeTV for the TV at the lake, i set up a dish and said forget it. An ATT hotspot drives it perfectly, and the kids were playing Xbox Live part of the same time, no issues. 50-something channels, $40 a month, six devices can used each account (no more than three at a time). I'm getting ready to drop Comcast in GA and just pay them for naked internet and set up another account here. If you're a Discovery network fan, you can grab another streaming service (libra or something like that), 30-something channels for $16 a month.

A cord cutting i go...

.....the country is a nice place to live.....we do get electricity....sunlight...but noooo cable or internet....and Hughes Net sux.......
just watch the espn production.....those guys are ok...

Solar power, generator, land line, 5mbps dsl, satellite tv, and closest cell signal is 15 miles away is what I'm about to get into AND I cannot wait for it to happen. So tired of living in the hustle and bustle...

Hoping I can get an Over The Air antenna to pull a signal across 4,000' hills between me and the broadcast towers about 30 miles away.

You may be right! But living in the country and it all you can get it's the BEST! But from dial-up to Hughes Net you can see when I'm coming from.

Well, Tennessee isn’t Montana.....things are a little closer...here....
But wouldn’t trade the country for the city.....anyday

who the hell wants to watch people watch a game?!

just watch the game on espn like normal folks.

i mute the tv and turn on the radio to listen to Eli and the guys. and i don't care that the radio is about 5 seconds ahead of the tv. Eli is more well-spoken, doesn't screw up the player's names, and is always classy and respectful.

The coach's expressions after 2nd and 26 was priceless. Matt Luke's mouth dropped and they all could only mutter a few words. That was fun to watch.

I distinctly remember Cutcliffe throughout that broadcast making negative comments about Bama. Not mean-spirited, mind you, but he was just continually anticipating negative plays for Bama. In that short clip above, you hear him saying, "This may end the game right here," implying he was expecting a turnover. The winning TD shut him up real fast! LOL

Even though Cutcliff has ties to Bama...he is more strongly tied to the Phat Phil regime at TN......wouldnt give a plug nickle for either....
