🏈 Eddie has a hurt pec muscle...it's not a rumor...not sure on how bad it is...

Depending on severity, that may be a season-ender. Tough break for him and definitely for the backfield.

What's up with all the pre-two-a-day injuries this year? You guys lost Dee and possibly Lacy, we lost Kris Frost.

Fortune.

We went injury free, basically, back in '92 and only had one bad one in the last run.

It was a bench max in the weight room...we're down to two the way I see it.

Really hate it for the kid, he was going to have a great opportunity this year.. Hope this isn't too severe.

With that out of the way :bird: here's to you Corey Grant.. Kidding, sort of.. So officially we are looking at Fowler and Calloway (if he gets in school of course).. Any other names jump out to you guys that could potentially step in for at least a couple of reps if needed.. How about Blake Sims? Wasn't he working with the RB's last year in camp? I know he is playing QB now but that kid is an excellent athlete.. And thinking WAY outside the box, how about Chris Jordan? He came in as a RB and I know he has substantially beefed up but he could be Fowler part 2.

Or just say the hell with it and go 5 wide all season

depending on the extent of the tear and the location, healing on a torn pect could be quicker than you might think. on the other hand, if it's the tendinous insertion or a complete tear, you're looking surgery and/or a much longer healing time and possibly some long lasting difficulty with certain basic actions like holding a ball tight to your body.

hope he gets well soon. i sure was looking forward to seeing him run the ball this year.

at this point i dont know if we can afford NOT putting Blake at RB now. at this point its Trent, Fowler, and a cpl walk ons.

True. Normal recovery time for a tear is about eight months...as much as eighteen depending on the individual.

I'm getting conflicting reports right now from 5 weeks to a tear...should know more tomorrow. At some point I have to get to work.

Well IF Calloway gets everything straightened out and gets in school he could be an option, although I just see him as a LB. I have to be honest, I REALLY like Fowler.. He isn't going to rip off a 70 yard run, but he is going to give you 3-4 yards of punishment. Sims could give us a little bit of a change up and be a quicker back that we can get into space.

Its overrated!!! Seriously though its scary how quickly we got thin at RB and camp hasn't even started.

He might be the best we have coming out of the backfield in passing situations. He has an uncanny ability for balance.

Hehehehe...

First thing I'm planning on doing is calling a few of our newspapers in NC to see what they are hearing about the coaching change.

I'm still officially "on leave of absence." It's just a checking in situation with a few things I noticed today...

In other words, I'll be having a brew in a matter of a couple of hours, if not sooner.

Pretty much dead on. Depending on which muscle/tendon and the severity he may or may not make it back. In my experience I'd say best case scenario you don't see him until late September. With it being a weightlifting injury, I'd lean more towards a bigger problem. I certainly hope I'm wrong. The rehab for pec reconstruction sucks; I always feel sorry for people.

As for difficulty holding the ball, that is especially worrisome. His fumble issues are a bit exaggerated but certainly has to be in the back of most's mind. I'm not trying to flame, just discussing openly. We just graduated a guy with all world speed and agility and the ball control of a child (Mario Fannin).

I hope the initial reports were exaggerated. That's a tough break for the young man and those depending on him. Trent had been banged up the last two years, it would help him to have an experienced back-up to spell him and soften the transition for Brent (if/when he is cleared) and Fowler.

Seems like NC has the symptoms of a hot mess.. Firing the coach one week before practice starts after allowing him to do media days is strange to say the least.. I am interested in hearing what was behind that.

I hope the leave is self imposed and everything is alright.

Definitely NOT overrated

Hate to hear this, Lacy has worked hard and was ready for an opportunity for more of a workload.

Hopefully it's not serious and he can come back, i am slightly intrigued of what Fowler might do with more touches though, seems like a tough, hard nosed runner with great size.

But if we lose Lacy it cuts into depth big time, Brent Calloway might have to get ready quick.
