Just my gut feeling but I don't think they trust Benton to call the defensive alignments. I have no source for that, just a hunch

I think we will have a more simplified Saban/Golding defense this year, not unlike Pruitt's defense two years ago. What with our two most experienced, oldest and best LBs out for the year and now will start two Fresh Men. A more read and react style of play , letting their instincts and athletic ability take over, with help and guidance from the other leaders on the team.
