🏈 Does Oregon jump us with a win over USC ?

USC is unranked (thanks to a jersey #5 and an elusive head coach) - USC is 8-2 losing Az State (who is 6-4) and Stanford (who is 9-1) in 3OT's.

The Oregon loss to LSU was worse than the Bama loss. I don't see them jumping Bama.

I have to look at this from LSU perspective, that two teams they have beaten might have another shot...kinda lame.

LSU needs Oklahoma State to win - here I was thinking Saban would get a shot at avenging LSU, South Carolina, Auburn and Oklahoma State in the same season.

I'll say this, anyone remember when LSU won it's last two championships - all were in New Orleans - which is where it is this year too.

I'm pulling for whoever plays Oklahoma State and Oregon now.

Should Oklahoma State fall, there is no doubt that an "east coast" vs. west coast, offense vs. defense rematch would be attractive to the TV execs. And the Ducks do have a point in that their loss to LSU was earlier than any one else's, which helps them more than Alabama. But the trouble is that the system has a large measure of responsibility to ensure that "the best teams" are selected for BCS NCG.

In my sight, there is just no honest way to degrade, marginalize, or dismiss the fact that Bama is still undefeated in regulation; something that Oregon did not approach. (no sour grapes, IFs/ANDs/BUTs, or disrespect to LSU meant. LSU won in BDS.)

The issue is what do the votes do is Bama is 11-1 while Oregon is 12-1 after their conference championship game. USC is not the issue for Bama, its Oregon facing a 13th test and passing the last 12 in a row that makes a compelling arguement. Compelling enough? I'm not sure, but the "PLUS ONE" campaign is well armed again this year.

It's an interesting question. USC cannot be ranked in the BCS but the SOS they add still boosts other teams.

My guy says Oregon doesn't jump Bama unless they just throttle USC or they win the Pac-12 and even then, I'm not so sure. I'm not sure any voter truly wants a rematch. An interesting thought is, if Okie State loses does Oregon have a better shot at a rematch since their loss was earlier and they hadn't peaked yet? I think Oregon may have an edge because of conference champion but head-to-head Bama would crush them.

If Okie State loses we are going to have a rematch no matter what, the question is who and how exactly it happens.
