That's really the point - he IS a head case right now- b/c Saban has said he's punting routinely 40-50 yards in practice. So it's not about ability. He has said DeLong's biggest problem is consistency and he is simply not performing in game situations. It IS a HUGE problem.

We should honestly just have him rugby kick it instead of doing the drop punt he seems to drop it wrong every time. It's not his leg or his kick generally it's his drop, he's dropping it to the side a lot and sometimes with the point level or too far down

Considering the punter is 15 yds behind the LOS, 40-45 yds toe to catch is pathetic. That translates to 25-30 yard punts.

I’d suggest we go for it on 4th down when it’s less than 10 yards to go and Tua is QB. Or let Hurts punt it with the option to pass/run depending on how the Defense rushes/lines-up.

That 40-45 from toe to punter doesn't get you a scholly to a place like Bama or for that matter any major school. Again somebody made a huge mistake signing this guy. His distance (as you charted are along with my punts back in the 60's. I will assume he has some height to his. Nick might have to bring back to quick kick but that is wasting 3rd downs.

His drops are all over the place! I mentioned it a few weeks back about his drops and the. Where his foot is when he strikes the ball. He is low, he is high, and everywhere in between. This will cause the leg to lose all power generated in the whip action of the leg. Kid needs some mental health time.
